Nashville Superspeedway is honoring one of the most dominant drivers in the track\u2019s history. Carl Edwards, who posted six victories over the course of his career at the track, is the inaugural member of the Legends Plaza.<\/p>\n

Edwards recorded five wins in the NASCAR<\/a> Xfinity Series at Nashville and also claimed a checkered flag in the NASCAR Truck Series. That gave him a grand total of six victories at the superspeedway, most all-time.<\/p>\n

Kyle Busch sits in second with five wins. <\/p>\n

Nashville Superspeedway honored the driver ahead of NASCAR\u2019s Cup Series event on Sunday. This weekend, the track is hosting the Ally 400.<\/p>\n

Per Yahoo Sports, Edwards made 13 starts at Nashville Superspeedway in the Xfinity Series. He posted 12 finishes inside the top-10, and finished 13th the one time he didn\u2019t land inside the top-10.<\/p>\n

Not too shabby.<\/p>\n

Edwards surprised the racing community by retiring at the age of 36 in 2017. He competed in 445 races over a 13-year career in the sport, scoring 28 victories and finishing in the top-10 a total of 220 times. He was also the Xfinity Series (then the Busch Series) champion in 2007.<\/p>\n

Additionally, NASCAR honored Edwards as one of the top 75 drivers in the sport. <\/p>\n

Carl Edwards addresses potential return to NASCAR<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s always difficult for professional athletes to step away from their sport. And because he stepped away so early, many wonder if Edwards would consider a return<\/a> to NASCAR.<\/p>\n

Right now, he says that\u2019s not something he plans on doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not planning on doing any (NASCAR) driving. This is the tip of the spear,\u201d Edwards said, per Jayski.com<\/a>. \u201cThese guys are so good that I would be terribly slow, and I would have to prep a lot. Seriously, that\u2019s the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Edwards enjoyed a phenomenal career in both the Xfinity and Cup Series. He may feel like he\u2019s accomplished more than enough as a professional driver.<\/p>\n

But, he did say that if he ever does get the urge to get back behind the wheel, he\u2019s going to be all in.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I tell you what, if (the desire) does creep in, that\u2019s it\u2019s something we want to go do, I promise you I\u2019ll give it 100 percent,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ll do the best I can. But right now, I\u2019m not planning on anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
