Penn State<\/a><\/strong> is in the top six for Carrollton<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Ga.) four-star cornerback\u00a0Dorian Barney<\/a><\/strong> and he\u2019s set to visit Happy Valley this weekend.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-0.5, 170-pounder confirmed his visit plans on Thursday via X and is set to get a good look at the Big Ten program, which is battling Colorado<\/a><\/strong>, Georgia Tech<\/a><\/strong>, Texas A&M<\/a><\/strong>, Michigan<\/a><\/strong> and North Carolina<\/a><\/strong> for his pledge.<\/p>\n

Barney got a look at Miami<\/a><\/strong>, UNC, Michigan and Texas A&M last month. No school has had him on campus more than Georgia Tech. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine<\/a><\/strong> currently favors Mike Elko<\/a><\/strong> and Texas A&M.<\/p>\n

Things still look to be very fluid for the Peach State blue-chipper, who ranks as the No. 126 recruit and No. 16 CB in the 2026 cycle, according to the\u00a0On3 Industry Ranking<\/a><\/strong>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.<\/p>\n

\u201cRelationships were key in these schools being my finalists. I have strong connections with coaches at all six of these schools,\u201d Barney told On3\u2019s Chad Simmons upon naming his top six last month<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be about who I feel is pushing the hardest for me up to that day I decide to commit,\u201d he said. \u201cThere is still a lot to think about. Do I take more visits? When do I commit? Those are things I still have to think about.\u201d<\/p>\n

PSU head coach James Franklin<\/a><\/strong>, corners coach Terry Smith<\/a><\/strong> and the Nittany Lions are next up to try and make an in-person impact on Barney\u2019s recruitment.<\/p>\n

Looking at Penn State\u2019s 2026 class thus far<\/h2>\n

To date, Penn State has nine commits in the 2026 cycle and a class that ranks No. 12 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Harrisburg (Pa.) four-star interior offensive lineman Kevin Brown<\/a><\/strong> remains the top-ranked pledge in the class and now checks in as the No. 51 overall prospect and No. 4 IOL. He committed at the end of July last summer.<\/p>\n

His teammate, four-star running back Messiah Mickens<\/a><\/strong>, has been pledged since Aug. 19, 2023. Despite the recent departure of PSU running backs coach Ja\u2019Juan Seider<\/a><\/strong>, Mickens remains in the class and is a top-200 prospect and No. 15 RB overall.<\/p>\n

Mcdonald (Pa.) Fort Cherry four-star safety Matt Sieg<\/a><\/strong> and Pittsburgh Imani Christian Academy four-star athlete David Davis<\/a><\/strong> are two more elite in-state commits. The Nittany Lions currently have four of the Keystone State\u2019s top 10 recruits in the mix.<\/p>\n

San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills four-star quarterback Troy Huhn<\/a><\/strong> committed last June and is now the No. 20 QB in the cycle. Princeton (W.V.) four-star EDGE commit Daniel Jennings<\/a><\/strong> is the top-ranked recruit in West Virginia.<\/p>\n

Bear (Del.) Appoquinimink three-star wide receiver Jahsier Rogers<\/a><\/strong>, Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township three-star cornerback Julian Peterson<\/a><\/strong> and Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic three-star WR Lavar Keys<\/a><\/strong> round out the class.<\/p>\n
