Anthony Davis<\/a><\/strong> is available for Wednesday night\u2019s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks announced<\/a>. The matchup will mark Luka Doncic\u2019s<\/strong> return to American Airlines Center after the blockbuster trade<\/a><\/strong>, which involved Davis, rocked the NBA<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Davis has been dealing with an adductor injury, although he played in the Mavericks\u2019 last game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Still, his status is official for Wednesday\u2019s game as he goes against Doncic and his former team.<\/p>\n

Davis got hurt in his first game with the Mavericks Feb. 8, but made his return to the lineup March 27. he missed the last matchup between Dallas and the Lakers as a result, meaning Wednesday will be his first time against his former squad.<\/p>\n

Last time out against the Clippers, Davis dropped 27 points and pulled down nine rebounds as Dallas fell 135-104. In his previous outing against the Atlanta Hawks, Davis had his most points as a Mav when he had 34 in the 120-118 victory.<\/p>\n

Wednesday\u2019s game will mark the second time Doncic will take on the Mavericks since the huge trade, but the first time he\u2019ll do so in Dallas. The anticipation continues to build for the game, and it could be quite emotional for Doncic. That said, he\u2019s excited to see some of his former teammates, but expects it to be an \u201cemotional\u201d night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t really know what to expect,\u201d Doncic said, via ESPN\u2019s Dave McMenamin<\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t know how I\u2019m going to feel, honestly. I\u2019m looking forward to being back in Dallas, obviously, with the fans, seeing my teammates \u2013 ex-teammates. It\u2019s going to be very emotional for me, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mavericks GM\u00a0Nico Harrison<\/strong>\u00a0said Anthony Davis was the key piece of the landmark trade, which sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers in a league-altering move.\u00a0Max Christie<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0was also part of the return for the Mavericks while the Utah Jazz acquired\u00a0Jalen Hood-Schifino<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and two 2025 second-round picks to help facilitate the move.<\/p>\n

Mavericks fans have made their frustrations clear with Harrison and the franchise after sending Doncic to Los Angeles. That\u2019s part of the reason there\u2019s so much buzz about Wednesday\u2019s matchup, which comes as the regular season enters its final stretch. The Lakers enter the game as the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference while the Mavericks sit at the No. 10 seed, three games ahead of the Phoenix Suns for the final Play-In Tournament spot.<\/p>\n
