Olney (Md.) Good Counsel four-star safety Faheem Delane<\/a><\/strong> does not plan to take many visits this summer as he prepares for his junior season. However, the 6-foot-1.5, 200-pound recruit has already seen multiple schools. <\/p>\n

Alabama<\/a><\/strong>, LSU<\/a><\/strong>, Maryland<\/a><\/strong> and Virginia Tech<\/a><\/strong> hosted him in the spring. Right now, the Crimson Tide, Tigers and Ohio State<\/a><\/strong> are in the lead for his commitment. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey are up there for me right now,\u201d Delane told On3. \u201cI like the fits at all three.\u201d <\/p>\n

Delane believes he will cut down his list late in the season or right after it. He believes three or four schools may make his final cut.<\/p>\n

Following that announcement, the No. 3 player in Maryland<\/a> plans to take his official visits. By this time next year, he expects to be committed or very close to committing. <\/p>\n

\u201cI am still in search of a school that best fits my style of play,\u201d said Delane, the No. 88 overall prospect and No. 9 safety in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cI want to play in a defense with multiple safeties and play in a scheme that fits me. The defensive mindset, a staff that I can learn from and a school that can develop me is big because my end goal is to play in the NFL.\u201d<\/p>\n

Delane announced his top 11 schools on March 17. They are Alabama,\u00a0Florida<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Florida State<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0LSU,\u00a0Maryland,\u00a0Ohio State,\u00a0Oregon<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Penn State<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0South Carolina<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0USC<\/a><\/strong> and\u00a0Virginia Tech.<\/p>\n

Alabama<\/strong>: \u201cAlabama\u2019s three safety look stands out to me. I see a great opportunity to play there. (Nick) Saban<\/a><\/strong> coaches defensive backs too. Then, it is Alabama. You go there to go to the NFL.\u201d<\/p>\n

LSU<\/strong>: \u201cLSU runs all types of defensive packages. When I was there in the spring, I broke film down with coach (Kerry) Cooks<\/a><\/strong>. It was great to see what they do. LSU has their defensive back history too with (Derek) Stingley<\/a><\/strong>, Jamal Adams<\/a><\/strong>, Grant Delpit<\/a><\/strong>, the list goes on and on and on. I love that history at LSU.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ohio State<\/strong>: \u201cI am really high on Ohio State. I visited early and I have liked them since my freshman year. It has a great defensive back culture. They have a balance of corners and safeties. Coach (Perry) Eliano<\/a><\/strong>, coach (Ryan) Day<\/a><\/strong>, coach (Jim) Knowles<\/a><\/strong>, they all recruit me. The last time I was there was for the Michigan<\/a><\/strong> game.\u201d <\/p>\n
