As far as the offseason goes, one impressive accomplishment is to be selected to participate in the Manning Passing Academy. After taking part in the event in Thibodaux, Louisiana this weekend, Florida State<\/a><\/strong> QB Jordan Travis<\/a> knew what an honor it was to be in attendance.<\/p>\n

Travis spoke on his experience while at\u00a0Nicholls State University<\/a><\/strong> in an exclusive interview<\/a> with Warchant<\/a><\/strong>. He said that it was a blessing to be surrounded by the hosts of the camp as well as the other quarterbacks and that, at times, he had to pinch himself considering he was there.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a><\/span>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a blessing from the man upstairs, obviously, to be here,\u201d Travis said. \u201cObviously with Peyton<\/a> and Eli<\/a>, the rest of the quarterbacks<\/a> across the country that are top guys. It\u2019s a blessing to talk to them and hear their perspective on things, how they see things, and what goes on at their school with their teammates. It\u2019s an awesome experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I got the invite, it was pretty cool. I talked to Coach Norvell<\/a>, obviously. (It\u2019s) just a blessing, man,\u201d said Travis. \u201cTalking with Jameis (Winston)<\/a>, who was here, and things like that? It still hasn\u2019t hit me looking around at all this and seeing the kids. It\u2019s pretty cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Travis took part and soaked in everything from the Manning Passing Academy over the weekend<\/a>. However, the Seminole quarterback wasn\u2019t available during the media sessions on Friday nor did he participate in the throwing competitions or skills challenges<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Travis earned his opportunity after breaking out as a player<\/a> during FSU\u2019s 10-3 season in 2022. He posted career-highs across the board with 3,214 passing yards and 24 touchdowns on a 64% completion rate. He also rushed for seven more scores while only accounting for five interceptions on the season.<\/p>\n

That production helped Florida State<\/a> post their best year since 2016 and win their first bowl game, a victory over Oklahoma<\/a><\/strong> in the Cheez-It Bowl, since 2017.<\/p>\n

Travis has officially arrived as many expect a lot out of him<\/a> as he heads into his sixth college season with his teammates in Tallahassee. Still, even with his success that earned his distinction as an MPA selection, he couldn\u2019t help but feel blessed, as well as a little amazed, that he was there over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Travis has goal to win national championship, not Heisman Trophy<\/h2>\n

Jordan Travis\u00a0has a preference when it comes to accolades at\u00a0Florida State\u00a0and within college football: a national championship.<\/p>\n

Sure, a Heisman Trophy would be nice, as Travis is one of the popular picks this coming season. But he\u2019d rather win every single game and deliver a title for the Seminoles.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s how he explained it on the\u00a0Preferred Walk On Podcast<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah it\u2019s a blessing for sure,\u201d\u00a0Travis said<\/a>. \u201cBeing talked about, especially at that magnitude and how special that award is, it\u2019s a blessing for sure. But, like I said before, man, I\u2019m a guy that wants to win a national championship. I came here to win a national championship.\u201d<\/p>\n

Again, Travis couldn\u2019t care less about the personal accolades. Heading into his sixth season, he is focused on the main thing and letting all the other chips fall where they may.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never said I\u2019m coming here to win a Heisman. I care about winning the football games. After that, other things will come.\u201d<\/p>\n
