Armstead is currently a member of the Miami Dolphins but also spent time in New Orleans with the Saints. He leaves behind a great career in the league, protecting the blinside better than most during his tenure.

“Breaking: #Dolphins 5x Pro-Bowl LT Terron Armstead tells me he’s retiring from the NFL,” Schultz said via X. “A tremendous career comes to a close. Armstead – who starred at HBCU Arkansas-Pine Bluff – played 12 seasons with Miami and New Orleans, highlighted by a 2018 All-Pro campaign.”

Armstead was a third-round pick of the Saints back in 2013. As Schultz mentioned, he came out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, before playing in the NFL for over a decade. Miami signed him to a five-year deal ahead of the 2022 season, meaning two years remain on the deal as he steps away.

The Pro Bowls were littered throughout Armstead’s career. His first came back in 2018, also when he was named second-team All-Pro by AP voters. That was the beginning of a three-year stretch of being named to the Pro Bowl. Later, in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, the honor was handed out once again.

Of the 135 games played throughout the 12 years, 131 of them were starts for Armstead. In his three seasons with Miami, there was not a game of the 38 games played over three years where he was not a starter at left tackle. A big shoe for the Dolphins to fill this offseason.

Deion Sanders discusses possibility of Shedeur Sanders going to New Orleans

Deion Sanders likes the possibility of his son Shedeur Sanders going to the New Orleans Saints in the NFL Draft. Currently, the Saints hold the No. 9 overall pick later this month, so it’s certainly within the cards.

Sanders is widely ranked as the No. 2 quarterback in the draft, although Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart’s stock is quickly rising. Still, Sanders seems like a good bet to go top 10, it’s just a matter of what other QB needy team steps up.

But Deion Sanders didn’t lie, he likes the sound of the Saints.
