It started with Kevin Knox<\/a><\/strong> at Kentucky and continued with Karter Knox<\/a><\/strong> at Arkansas. Now, a third Knox brother is gearing up to play in the Southeastern Conference. <\/p>\n

South Florida guard Kobe Knox<\/a> is transferring to South Carolina<\/strong>, On3\u2019s Joe Tipton reports. Knox started his college career at Grand Canyon before spending the last two seasons at South Florida where he averaged 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 steals in 28.6 minutes per outing in 2024-25. Clocking in at 6-foot-5, 195 pounds, he shot 46.3 percent from the field, 33.1 percent from deep (4.0 3PTA), and 76.7 percent from the free throw line this past season with the Bulls.<\/p>\n

Kobe is the middle brother of Kevin (25; currently playing for the Golden State Warriors) and Karter (19; a rising sophomore at Arkansas). He will have one year of eligibility remaining with the Gamecocks. <\/p>\n

Knox is the fourth portal player to commit to Lamont Paris<\/a><\/strong> and South Carolina in the last five days. He joins Providence\u2019s\u00a0Christ Essandoko<\/a><\/strong>, North Dakota\u2019s\u00a0Treysen Eaglestaff<\/a><\/strong>, and Ohio State\u2019s Meechie Johnson<\/a><\/strong> as roster pieces for the Gamecocks in 2025-26. South Carolina will face Kentucky at least once next season. <\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not the only interesting South Carolina portal nugget with a connection to the \u2018Cats. Redshirt freshman guard Austin Herro<\/a><\/strong>, the younger brother of former UK star Tyler Herro<\/a><\/strong>, is currently in the portal after seeing limited playing time for South Carolina this past season. Austin redshirted the 2023-24 season as a walk-on before earning a scholarship in 2024-25, however, he appeared in just 10 games and did not play more than three minutes in any of them. <\/p>\n
