Shaqir O\u2019Neal<\/a><\/strong>, the son of Shaq, entered the NCAA transfer portal, per On3\u2019s Jamie Shaw. He played this past season at Florida A&M<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neal also played at Texas Southern before transferring to Florida A&M. Now, he\u2019ll search for the third school of his career.<\/p>\n

This past season, O\u2019Neal put up modest stats. He averaged 6.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game on 50% shooting this season.<\/p>\n

As a member of the Class of 2021, O\u2019Neal was not ranked, according to the On3 Industry Ranking<\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He played his HS basketball at Union Grove (Ga.) is from McDonough (M.D.).<\/p>\n

Additionally, Shaqir O\u2019Neal\u2019s brother,\u00a0Shareef O\u2019Neal<\/a><\/strong>, also spent some time in Baton Rouge like their father, when Shaq played for LSU, playing for the Tigers from 2020-2022 after starting his collegiate career with the\u00a0UCLA Bruins<\/a><\/strong>. Shareef O\u2019Neal was not picked during the 2022 NBA Draft, but has played in the NBA G League since then, and was named to the G League\u2019s inaugural Next Up Game for the 2022\u201323 season.<\/p>\n

In other O\u2019Neal news, Shaqir\u2019s father Shaq, who might be a TV Hall of Famer one day like his NBA career, agreed to a long-term deal with TNT, paying him $15 million a year. The deal was reported in February.<\/p>\n

The news comes after the past year or so painting an unclear picture. TNT Sports previously lost its media rights deal with the NBA. That put the future of \u2018Inside The NBA\u2019, the Emmy Award-winning studio show headlined by O\u2019Neal along with Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith, in doubt beyond this season when that deal ends.<\/p>\n

However, back in November, ESPN and ABC made a deal with Warner Brothers in order for them to license \u2018Inside The NBA\u2019 moving forward. ESPN has made other deals prior to this one with TNT, including broadcasting rights for the network to be able to\u00a0broadcast college football and basketball games in the Big 12<\/a>\u00a0as well as\u00a0an agreement to sublicense games<\/a>\u00a0over the next five years in\u00a0the College Football Playoff<\/a>.<\/p>\n
