Olney (Ill.) High four-star offensive lineman Casey Thomann<\/a><\/strong> announced his commitment to Illinois on Tuesday morning, another big recruiting win for head coach Bret Bielema and his staff.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-7, 310-pound Thoman said he chose the Illini over his other top schools in Iowa, Iowa State, Northwestern and Nebraska.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a place I\u2019ve known for awhile,\u201d Thoman said. \u201cIt\u2019s in my home state. I\u2019ve been on many visits. I\u2019ve been with that coaching staff for years now. It felt like the best place for me athletically, academically and socially.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thomann is commit No. 10 for Illinois in the 2026 cycle<\/a>, adding to a class the On3 Industry previously ranked No. 18 nationally<\/a>. Coming off a 10-win season including a victory over South Carolina in the Citrus Bowl has propelled the Big Ten program on the trail.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think a big part of it is Coach B and his coaching staff and how much input he put in the program,\u201d Thomann said. \u201cTheir success, especially in-state guys, for Coach B be able to grow that program is incredible and I\u2019m happy part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

On3 tabs Thomas as the No. 29 offensive tackle in the land and No. 10 overall prospect in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s home,\u201d he added. \u201cEverywhere in my hometown and around me it\u2019s all Illini. It\u2019s just the best fit for me and I\u2019m ready to get to work.\u201d<\/p>\n
