One Penn State player made On3\u2019s Way-too-early 2025 All-American team as winter workouts continue before spring practice. We have more on who made the cut in today\u2019s newsstand.<\/p>\n
Ari Wasserman, who covers college football nationally for On3 and is the co-host of the Andy & Ari On3 show on YouTube, took a crack at predicting who will earn All-American status in 2025. Only one Nittany Lion made the cut: Running back Nicholas Singleton<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n \u201cSingleton is one of two Penn State running backs who could have been on this list,\u201d Wasserman writes. \u201cThe other is Kaytron Allen, who also returns to the Nittany Lions to form the best offensive backfield in college football. Singleton\u2019s versatility, though, is what gave him the nod on this list over Allen and a bunch of other elite-level running backs. In 2024, Singleton rushed for 1,099 yards \u2014 averaging more than 6 yards per carry. He also hauled in 41 catches and scored 17 total touchdowns.\u201d<\/p>\n Penn State 2025 opponents who are on the list include second-team running back Makhi Hughes<\/a><\/strong> of Oregon, first-team receiver \u00a0Jeremiah Smith<\/a> <\/strong>of Ohio State, second-team receiver Elijah Surratt<\/a><\/strong> of Indiana, second-team guard \u00a0Emmanuel Pregnon<\/a><\/strong> of Oregon, first-team safety Caleb Downs<\/a><\/strong> of Ohio State, and first-team cornerback D\u2019Angelo Ponds<\/a><\/strong> of Indiana. <\/p>\n \u201cSome may look at Ponds\u2019 stature and not anticipate he\u2019s one of the best cornerbacks in the country,\u201d Wasserman writes. \u201cBut don\u2019t let the 5-foot-9 height fool you. Ponds can jump through a building and run through a wall. A second-team All-American by the FWAA last year, Ponds returns to Indiana and figures to be one of the best defenders in college football.\u201d<\/p>\n
