Most NFL<\/a><\/strong> experts expect Travis Hunter<\/a><\/strong> to play on one side of the ball at the next level. However, when a reporter asked Hunter what position he expects to play in the NFL, the former Colorado<\/a><\/strong> two-way star refused to limit himself to a single position.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did some meetings at receiver. I did some meetings at DB. So, it\u2019s still up in the air,\u201d Hunter said<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cThey say, \u2018Nobody has ever done it the way I do it.\u2019 I tell them, \u2018I\u2019m just different.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Hunter is certainly different. The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner was dominant at cornerback and wide receiver this past season at Colorado. He was the first player to win the award while playing significant minutes on both sides of the ball since\u00a0Charles Woodson\u00a0(1997).<\/p>\n

On defense, Hunter tallied 31 tackles, 11 pass breakups, four interceptions, a conference-best 15 passes defended (tied for fifth nationally) and forced a game-winning fumble in the 2024 campaign. For his efforts, he was named the 2024 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.<\/p>\n

Hunter\u2019s numbers were just as impressive, if not better, on offense. The Georgia native led the conference with 92 receptions and 14 receiving touchdowns while finishing with 1,152 receiving yards, the second-most in the Big 12.<\/p>\n

Hunter is projected to be a Top-5 pick in the upcoming draft<\/a><\/strong> and will show off his talents this week at the NFL Scouting Combine<\/a><\/strong>. Although most insiders expect Hunter to focus on a single position at the professional level, others believe he is capable of his two-way success translating to the NFL.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday at the NFL Scouting Combine, Tennessee Titans<\/strong>\u00a0head coach\u00a0Brian Callahan<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 owner of the No. 1 overall pick \u2014 explained why Travis Hunter could play both sides of the ball in the NFL.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s very realistic. He\u2019s a unique player that there\u2019s not a whole lot of other players that you can compare to what he\u2019s done,\u201d\u00a0Callahan said, according to JT Ruhnke<\/a>. \u201cThere\u2019s not many guys that have played that many snaps on both sides of the ball. And you watch his tape and you see his ability to play both at a very high level.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I think anybody that you talk to about him is going to say the same thing, that he\u2019s got the ability to play both. And I think you\u2019ll find out where he fits (when) you get him, but he\u2019s got a real unique ability to do a lot of different things.\u201d<\/p>\n
