We\u2019ll start with the bad news \u2014 although it\u2019s not terribly surprising considering <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/coach\/mark-pope-132332\/\">Mark Pope<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s most recent comments. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/lamont-butler-jr-77745\/\">Lamont Butler<\/a><\/strong>, dealing with a shoulder injury, has been declared OUT ahead of Kentucky\u2019s matchup at Ole Miss on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about Butler\u2019s status moving forward and if it would be a long-term situation for the Wildcats, Pope said he was uncertain on a potential return.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just don\u2019t know.\u00a0I\u2019m not sure,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/kentucky-wildcats\/news\/mark-pope-injury-update-lamont-butler-inspire-optimism\/\">he said.<\/a> \u201cWe are trying to just navigate the space.\u00a0There\u2019s a lot to it because I\u2019m not going to share because it\u2019s his stuff.\u00a0We are trying to figure out how to proceed right now.\u00a0We will see, I would tell you more, but we just really genuinely don\u2019t know yet.\u00a0We\u2019ll figure out more in the next couple of weeks.\u00a0I would assume at some point we are going to take another shot at this and see how it goes and we will kind of play it by ear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Considering that ominous update came just two days ago, we shouldn\u2019t be surprised to see Butler quickly declared out ahead of the trip to Oxford.<\/p>\n<p>On the flip side, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/andrew-carr-154952\/\">Andrew Carr<\/a><\/strong> has been officially removed from the injury report, meaning he\u2019s good to go at Ole Miss and moving forward after getting his back issue under control.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFeeling good, feeling good. It was certainly a tough stretch for me for a little bit,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/3HxktVuRUbQ?si=8h0uzjF5Vu5sB2FP\">Carr said of his back on Monday. <\/a>\u201cI\u2019ve spent a lot of time with our trainers and been able to recover a little bit here and starting to stabilize a little bit and feel a whole lot better. I\u2019m in a good spot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for the Rebels, guard <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/matthew-murrell-86172\/\">Matthew Murrell<\/a><\/strong> has been listed as QUESTIONABLE going into the matchup. He earned a similar pregame grade against Missouri and Texas, but ultimately played in both games. The 6-4 senior was listed as probable against Auburn before scoring 17 points on 4-6 shooting to go with four rebounds in 31 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The new SEC policy states that players must be listed as \u201cout\u201d (0% chance to play), \u201cdoubtful\u201d (25% chance to play), \u201cquestionable\u201d (50% chance to play), or \u201cprobable\u201d (75% chance to play) in reports prior to game days. On the final report, players will be designated as \u201cavailable,\u201d \u201cgame-time decision\u201d or \u201cout\u201d in an effort to provide additional clarity.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Want more coverage of the Cats?
