Aaron Rodgers<\/a><\/strong> still hasn\u2019t made a decision regarding whether he\u2019s returning to the New York Jets and the NFL as a whole for another season in 2025.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a struggle for Rodgers over his two seasons in New York, and he isn\u2019t getting any younger. The Jets have undergone a slew of changes, including hiring a new coach and general manager after it didn\u2019t work out with Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas. Would Rodgers be open to basically restarting in the Big Apple at 41 years old? That\u2019s the question.<\/p>\n

On Monday, ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter tried to deliver some answers on the drama, as he joined The Pat McAfee Show<\/em> to delve into Rodgers\u2019 future with the Jets under new head coach Aaron Glenn<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that Aaron Glenn and Aaron Rodgers have to sit down and No. 1, Aaron Rodgers, first and foremost, has to decide whether or not he wants to play, whether or not he wants to play in New York, whether or not he\u2019s committed to going through all this again,\u201d Schefter stated. \u201cIf and when that\u2019s the case, then Aaron Glenn\u2019s going to have a decision to make about what they want to do with their franchise. <\/p>\n

\u201cFrom a talent standpoint, there\u2019s probably not a better option out there than Aaron Rodgers. The guy still has it, and he still can play. The question is, what do they want to do, as they\u2019re rebuilding their organization? Is that a long-term play? Do they feel like there\u2019s a better fit for the organization to grow with?<\/p>\n

\u201cThose are questions, I think that both sides have to answer, with input from one another, as they sit down and talk about this issue moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, Rodgers has put together a Hall of Fame career, finishing up his 20th NFL season following the 2024 campaign. Over that time, the veteran quarterback has thrown for over 62,000 yards with 503 touchdowns, winning four MVP awards and a Super Bowl title with the Green Bay Packers, as well.<\/p>\n

In 2023, the Packers traded Rodgers to the Jets, but Rodgers missed nearly all of the 2023 season due to a torn Achilles. He returned in 2024 and led the Jets to a 5-12 record despite throwing for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns.<\/p>\n

All told, Aaron Rodgers is still the best option for the Jets if they want to be competitive in 2025. Whether the legendary quarterback is up for another season remains to be seen, but it\u2019ll be fascinating to speculate regardless, until he gives his answer, which could be any day now. <\/p>\n
