South Carolina women\u2019s basketball fans should fill up Colonial Life Arena on Sunday. Gamecock legend A\u2019ja Wilson will have her jersey retired in a pregame ceremony before the team takes on the Auburn Tigers.<\/a> No. 22 will hang in the rafters as USC looks to continue building on their nation\u2019s-best resume.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for college basketball fans, injuries will be a storyline on Sunday. Per the SEC-mandated availability report<\/a>, a shorthanded Auburn team will fight an uphill battle as they try to take on the hottest team in the country.<\/p>\n

Former Arkansas Razorback standout Taliah Scott, one of the biggest transfer portal additions in the country this offseason remains out. Scott, a dynamic scorer, began the year as a starter for Auburn but hasn\u2019t played since November because of a wrist injury. Joining her with an \u201cout\u201d designation, Savannah Scott, a 6\u20194\u2033 center who started part of last season, hasn\u2019t played all year. Auburn\u2019s injury issues have been so bad that the Tigers added two new players in January.<\/p>\n

There were no surprises for South Carolina on the availability report. Junior forward Ashlyn Watkins remains out with her torn ACL; she will miss the rest of the season. Other than that, the Gamecocks are as healthy as they can be.<\/p>\n

There will be one more report shortly before tip-off on Sunday, but nothing should change for either team.<\/p>\n

During the offseason, the SEC approved a new policy that mandates availability reports for conference games. The reports will be required for football, men\u2019s and women\u2019s basketball, and baseball. For football, teams submit reports on Wednesday and then update them each day until a final report 90 minutes before game time. For basketball and baseball, reports will be submitted the evening before a game and then updated on game day.<\/p>\n

The availability reports will use designations such as \u201cavailable,\u201d \u201cprobable,\u201d \u201cquestionable,\u201d \u201cdoubtful,\u201d and \u201cout\u201d to describe how likely it is that a particular player will suit up for the next conference game. On game day, those designations will shift to \u201cout\u201d or \u201cgame-time decision.\u201d The reports model professional sports leagues\u2019 injury reports.<\/p>\n

South Carolina and Auburn will tip off at Noon on Sunday inside Colonial Life Arena. SEC Network will broadcast the SEC contest, while the ESPN app will make it available for streaming. <\/p>\n

The No. 2 Gamecocks enter with a 20-1 record and an undefeated 8-0 mark in SEC play. Auburn, on the other hand, is just 11-10 and owns a 2-6 conference record. Like the Gamecocks, the Tigers also enter the contest coming off of a bye.<\/p>\n
