2027 Knoxville (Tenn.) West High School standout defender JP Peace\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> recruitment has started to heat up. In recent months, Peace has earned offers from Georgia State, Florida State, and UAB, while also visiting Clemson, South Carolina, and Tennessee.<\/p>\n

The standout Sophomore was at the Vols\u2019 second Junior day of the year on January 25th, and following the visit, he went in-depth with Volquest<\/a> on the stop.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a great time,\u201d Peace said of the visit. \u201cWe got a good look at the new facilities, and everything looked great. I was excited to be up here, and I was treated really well during the visit.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the visit, Peace spent plenty of time with the Tennessee coaching staff, including linebacker coach William Inge.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got to spend a lot of time with Coach Inge today. He showed me through the linebacker room,\u201d Peace said. \u201cHe is just a really good coach, and he was coaching me through the plays and the film. He has a great personality, and I interacted with him really well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peace has also enjoyed connecting with Tennessee Head Coach Josh Heupel throughout.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Heupel has been there for me ever since the recruiting process started,\u201d Peace said of Heupel. \u201cI really appreciate that about him. He is a really good coach, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the young standout defender, there is plenty of familiarity with Tennessee. His dad, Robert Peace, was a linebacker for the Vols from 2000 to 2004, while his grandfather, is legendary National Championship-winning Tennessee Head Coach Phillip Fulmer.<\/p>\n

So, naturally, JP has been around the program for most of his life, but now, it is about looking at it from the perspective of a recruit. There is one aspect that has already started to stand out for the local prospect.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say really what stands out to me, especially at Tennessee, because I have been to a few places now, is how I am treated like family and at home the most,\u201d Peace said of this.<\/p>\n

As Peace attacks the process as a recruit, he knows what he is looking for in his future home.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just really focus on the coaches and how I relate to them,\u201d the fast-rising prospect said of this. \u201cThat is really important to me, and that means the most to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peace had a strong season at West as a sophomore this past season, where he racked up 72.5 total tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss and 7 sacks. He also forced a fumble and intercepted a pass.<\/p>\n

As his game evolves, he feels like this past season, he was able to showcase his motor, and he is eager to see his game continue to grow.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I have a good motor and am able to showcase my speed,\u201d Peace said of his game. \u201cAs I continue to develop, I need to work on tackling through the guy and how I use my hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
