The Las Vegas Raiders made their decision<\/a>, hiring Pete Carroll<\/strong> as their next head coach, according to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Carroll, who won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks, is replacing Antonio Pierce<\/a><\/strong>, who was fired after going 4-13 in his first and only season at the helm. He\u2019ll be hoping to bring his championship pedigree to Sin City, and build them into a contender after one season removed from the NFL.<\/p>\n

Just in: Pete Carroll and the Raiders now have reached agreement on a three-year deal with a fourth-year team option, sources tell ESPN.<\/p>\n

The Raiders are no stranger to a coaching search, having hired eight head coaches since 2011 alone. Carroll is now No. 9, entrusted as the coach to lead the Raiders into the future.<\/p>\n

Las Vegas is searching for stability and consistency \u2014 two things that have been hard to come by. The Raiders have just two playoff appearances since their Super Bowl XXXVII defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2002 season (2016, 2021). <\/p>\n

Top of the list for the new regime? Finding a franchise quarterback. After both Gardner Minshew<\/a><\/strong> and Aidan O\u2019Connell<\/a><\/strong> struggled under center this season, it\u2019s all but guaranteed the Raiders will look to revamp their quarterback room this offseason. <\/p>\n

Two late season wins took the Raiders out of the hunt for the No. 1 overall pick, and Las Vegas will now be picking sixth this April. Does that take them out of the Cam Ward<\/a><\/strong> and Shedeur Sanders<\/a><\/strong> sweepstakes? Possibly, though Las Vegas could opt to be aggressive in moving up to secure one the draft\u2019s top signal-callers.<\/p>\n

Seven-time Super Bowl champion and new minority owner Tom Brady<\/a><\/strong> could very well play a role in the Raiders\u2019 roster decisions in 2025. <\/p>\n

\u201cI want Tom to have a huge voice. No question about it,\u201d Raiders controlling owner Mark Davis<\/strong> said last month. \u201cIt\u2019s part of building the infrastructure of the organization, which is something that we didn\u2019t have\u2026 a football person on that side of it that\u2019s not a coach or a general manager, but somebody who can oversee the whole picture. And I believe Tom, in time, will be the person who can do that.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got a great ability to communicate on a level that people can understand and not trying to talk over them. I\u2019m excited and really grateful that he\u2019s part of the Raiders organization.\u201d<\/p>\n
