FOX Sports in conjunction with NASCAR <\/a>Studios will release two new documentaries this year celebrating the sport on two levels. First, The Madhouse: NASCAR\u2019s Return to Bowman Gray Stadium<\/em> on January 27th on FS1. Then So Damn Close: Atlanta \u201924 <\/em>will debut on February 13th on FS1. <\/p>\n

The Madhouse <\/em>will be a NASCAR documentary on the history the sport has at the track. Tom Rinaldi will serve as the narrator for what should be a fantastic production. <\/p>\n

That documentary will air prior to the NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. A bit of an appetizer early in the week for fans ready to get the Cup Series season started. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe film explores the rich and rollicking history of the venue while weaving a narrative that focuses on preparations for The Clash at Bowman Gray,\u201d the synopsis from NASCAR says. \u201cFeaturing exclusive interviews with NASCAR\u2019s Jim France and Ben Kennedy, plus other notable racing figures such as Leonard Wood and Chocolate Myers along with Bowman Gray stalwarts Burt Myers, Jason Myers, and Tim Brown, the documentary tells a story that intersects two unique worlds: the biggest motorsports series in North America, and the grassroots charm of small-town America at Bowman Gray Stadium.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sounds like the perfect film for the week of the Clash. There have been many films and series done about Bowman Gray over the years. Burt, Jason Myers, and Tim Brown have been fixtures in almost all of them, and for good reason. They are the most successful drivers in the history of the track. <\/p>\n

Burt and Tim will attempt to qualify for the Clash this year at Bowman Gray. Both will also likely race in the Madhouse Classic, a 125-lap modified race on Saturday, February 1. <\/p>\n

NASCAR documentary on Atlanta three-wide finish<\/h2>\n

Now this NASCAR documentary interests me. So Damn Close: Atlanta \u201924. <\/em>We all know what happened. Last year, Atlanta was moved to the second race of the season. A smaller superspeedway, it has produced some fantastic racing in the last few years. <\/p>\n

Daniel Su\u00e1rez, Ryan Blaney, and Kyle Busch came across the line three-abreast. Su\u00e1rez beat Blaney by 0.003 seconds. He beat Busch by 0.007 seconds, the closest 1-2-3 margin in NASCAR history. <\/p>\n

It would ultimately set the tone for the rest of the season. Cup and Xfinity finishes at Kansas, Talladega, Daytona, and Texas provided NASCAR fans with some of the closest and wildest finishes of the Next Gen era. <\/p>\n

\u201cFocusing on the closest three-way finish in NASCAR history between Daniel Su\u00e1rez, Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch in last year\u2019s Ambetter Health 400, the documentary will feature all three drivers getting together to revisit the dramatic race, plus separate shoots with their crew chiefs and spotters.
