Lions OC Ben Johnson is one of the most notable names on this current coaching carousel in the NFL<\/a>. He still has several options on the table too with six jobs still available around the league.<\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter joined \u2018The Pat McAfee Show\u2019 on Friday<\/a> and discussed Johnson\u2019s candidacy for those openings. He was certain that he\u2019ll be a head coach for one of them next year rather than returning to Detroit again and said he could end up as the hire for any besides one.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s getting a head coaching job. He is getting one,\u201d said Schefter. \u201cIt\u2019s just not going to be in Dallas<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAgain, I don\u2019t know where he\u2019s going to go,\u201d Schefter said. \u201cHe\u2019s going to have, I think, three realistic options.\u201d<\/p>\n

So, that leaves five potentially for Johnson with the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, and Las Vegas Raiders.<\/p>\n

Per the latest over this last week, Johnson is in connection to two more than the others in Las Vegas<\/a> and Chicago<\/a>. However, Schefter doesn\u2019t understand the Raiders\u2019 buzz, although noting he could end up in Vegas, considering the circumstances with the franchise.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I know everybody has got Ben Johnson anointed to the Raiders. I\u2019m not in that camp right now,\u201d said Schefter. \u201cSo, I have to believe it before I see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAgain, I know that this Raiders freight train has gathered a whole lot of steam \u2013 and I don\u2019t want to slow it down because, by the way, I want to say, for the record, it could happen. He could be the coach there. But I am not just convinced just yet that that\u2019s going to be the way it\u2019s going to be,\u201d said Schefter. \u201cIf you\u2019re picking the Raiders? You\u2019re telling me that Ben Johnson turned down the chance to go coach Jayden Daniels<\/a> last year, turned that down, so he can go to a place this year in Las Vegas without a top pick<\/a>, without a quarterback, that plays in a division with Patrick Mahomes<\/a>, Justin Herbert<\/a>, Bo Nix<\/a>, Andy Reid<\/a>, Jim Harbaugh<\/a>, and Sean Payton? Does that make sense to you? I\u2019m just wondering. Like, I\u2019m just laying it out there like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

With that, Schefter brought the Bears back into it and wondered why Johnson isn\u2019t getting more buzz there.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s my question,\u201d Schefter said. \u201cWhy is everybody ignoring Chicago when it comes to Ben Johnson? Why, why has that just been dispelled? I don\u2019t get it. What am I missing here?\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson has a game in the NFC Divisional to prepare for tomorrow for the No. 1 Detroit Lions. From there, though, Johnson\u2019s name is in the mix around the National Football League, especially in Sin City and Chi-Town.<\/p>\n
