The Ole Miss men\u2019s basketball team went to Fayetteville not a full strength and left with a road win over Arkansas. Back home on Saturday it will continue to be down a player inside the SJB Pavilion.<\/p>\n
When the No. 23-ranked Rebels (13-2, 2-0 SEC) host LSU (11-4, 0-2) at 5 p.m. CT they will be without forward Mikeal Brown-Jones<\/a><\/strong>. On Friday\u2019s availability report Ole Miss listed Brown-Jones as \u2018Out.\u2019<\/p>\n This is the second-straight game Brown-Jones will miss after suffering an injury against Georgia in last Saturday\u2019s conference opener. What the injury or issue with Jones is has not been disclosed.<\/p>\n In his first season at Ole Miss Brown-Jones is averaging 6.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. He also has five assists and nine blocks on the year. He transferred in from UNC Greensboro this past offseason to help create a Rebels roster with older experience built for a NCAA Tournament run.<\/p>\n Beard will once again miss the Brown-Jones\u2019 presence in the post though the Rebels won the rebound battle by one against Arkansas on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Ole Miss will not be the only team down a player. LSU listed junior forward Jalen Reed<\/a><\/strong> as \u2018Out\u2019 on the availability report after tearing his ACL agaisnt Florida State on December 3<\/p>\n Reed played in the first eight games of the season, starting in each of them.
