There was the big news yesterday we broke down that Georgia QB Carson Beck is going in the portal \u2026 with Miami perhaps the frontrunner. We have a closer look thanks to a Georgia writer\u2019s perspective, and also a film study of Beck. So don\u2019t miss that analysis. Plus we look at why his UCL tear perhaps isn\u2019t as big a deal as some make it out to be.<\/p>\n

Miami had 37 sacks in 2024. That\u2019s three per game. Average is 2.5. Miami had 34 sacks in 2023<\/p>\n

People are ripping the line for a lack of sacks. But it takes about 2.5 seconds to get to the QB and sack him. Our DBs and LBs were unable to cover receivers. The back end scheme was terrible. OCs figured out how to scheme Guidry\u2019s defense and identify the mis-match so the opposing QB was getting the ball out most of the time in under 2.5 seconds.<\/p>\n

Given the secondary issues became apparent week 5 of the season, I would have expected some drop off by the end of the season and some frustration from the DL that the back end couldn\u2019t hold up for more than 2 seconds.<\/p>\n
