Virginia Tech<\/a><\/strong> has landed a commitment from a highly productive pass-rusher out of the transfer portal, snagging Mercer<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s Arias Nash<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nash announced his commitment<\/a> with a graphic on Twitter on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

The talented 6-foot-1, 275-pound prospect racked up 53 tackles, 12.5 tackles for a loss, 9.0 sacks, a forced fumble, 14 quarterback hurries and two pass breakups during the 2024 season.<\/p>\n

That was a breakout season for Arias Nash, following more meager contributions the two years prior.<\/p>\n

As a freshman in 2022, Nash played in just seven games and logged a pair of tackles. He was more productive in 2023, playing in 12 games with two starts. He tallied 15 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, a quarterback hurry and a pass breakup.<\/p>\n

Arias Nash should be able to instantly bolster the pass rush at Virginia Tech.<\/p>\n

Prior to enrolling at Mercer, Arias Nash was an unranked prospect in the On3 Recruiting Rankings.<\/p>\n

Virginia Tech adds an offensive lineman<\/h2>\n

Arias Nash isn\u2019t the only recent addition for the Hokies, who have utilized the transfer portal quite a bit in the winter window.<\/p>\n

Interior offensive lineman Kyle Altuner<\/strong><\/a> has signed with Virginia Tech from the NCAA transfer portal<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Altuner just finished his lone season with West Virginia<\/a><\/strong>. He did not appear in a game with the Mountaineers as a true freshman this fall.<\/p>\n

Altuner, a native of Olney, Maryland, played\u00a0high school football\u00a0at\u00a0Good Counsel. He was the No. 403 overall recruit there as a three-star prospect in\u00a0the 2024 cycle. He also rated as\u00a0a Top-40 IOL\u00a0and\u00a0a Top-15 player out of his state. That\u2019s according to\u00a0the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. With that rating, he was the top signee from\u00a0last year\u2019s recruiting class\u00a0for WVU.<\/p>\n
