Former Florida State<\/strong><\/a> tight end Jackson West<\/a><\/strong> signed with Western Kentucky<\/strong><\/a>, finding his new home to continue his college football career. On3\u2019s Pete Nakos reported the news on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

West just finished his fourth seasons with the Seminoles. He appeared in 20-plus games, on offense at times but also on special teams, for FSU. In that time in Tallahassee, West recorded only three tackles as part of that coverage.<\/p>\n

West, a native of Huntsville, Alabama, played\u00a0high school football<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Huntsville<\/a>. He was the No. 704 overall recruit there as a three-star prospect in\u00a0the 2021 cycle<\/a>. That\u2019s according to\u00a0the On3 Industry Ranking<\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as\u00a0a top 40 TE in his class<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0a top 30 player from out of his state<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of several players that are going to transfer this offseason from Florida State, West was only the second who went into the portal.\u00a0Wide receiver Deuce Spann<\/a>\u00a0was the only other who is officially in with his entry on November 29th.<\/p>\n

Ahead of a new era of athlete revenue sharing, Norvell is going the extra mile to provide extra money to athletes coming to Florida State.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe contribution is part of the school\u2019s new Vision of Excellence campaign intended to raise money as schools gear up to share revenue directly with athletes under the new House settlement agreement,\u201d\u00a0Yahoo Sports\u2019 Ross Dellenger reported<\/a>.\u201cThe settlement permits each school in Division I to share at least $20.5 million with their athletes starting on July 1.\u201d<\/p>\n
