Over 350 participants took part in Nebraska\u2019s FNL Camp. It was NU\u2019s final scheduled high school camp of the month. <\/p>\n
The camp battled early thunderstorms that moved the event indoors before things eventually concluded inside Memorial Stadium. <\/p>\n
RELATED \u2013 Nebraska Camp breakdown: 2025 QB Garyt Odom works out for Husker staff and Craig Bohl makes a return visit to NU<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Here is a complete rundown of who camped and the different storylines that emerged on Friday. <\/p>\n The theme of high-profile 2025 and 2026 quarterback throwing for the Nebraska staff continued at NU\u2019s FNL Camp. <\/p>\n The event was highlighted by an appearance from 2026 Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle quarterback Dayton Raiola<\/a><\/strong>. Since visiting campus earlier this year, Raiola has made noticeable physical gains. <\/p>\n Raiola was throwing in Lincoln while his older brother Dylan Raiola<\/a><\/strong> competed at the Elite 11 in Los Angeles on Friday. Just like his older brother Dylan, Dayton Raiola showed natural arm talent. <\/p>\n It was this same camp in June of 2021 where Dylan Raiola had one of his first big public workouts as a recruit following his freshman season at Burleson High School in Texas. <\/p>\n Another big-name quarterback that threw for the Huskers staff on Friday was Keller (Texas) All Saints Episcopal 2025 standout Kelden Ryan<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Ryan already holds 16 Power Five offers and is ranked as the fourth-best quarterback in Texas <\/a><\/strong>for the Class of 2025 by On3. <\/p>\n Ryan talked more about his experience following the camp. <\/p>\n \u201cIt was great. I had a really good camp,\u201d Ryan told HuskerOnline<\/em>. \u201cCoach (Marcus Satterfield<\/a><\/strong>) said that I had unbelievable arm talent and he was looking forward to building a relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n Ryan has offers from Penn State, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Miami, Baylor, Cal, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, Washington State, Colorado, Duke, Houston, Miami and Vanderbilt. <\/p>\n One of the real highlights on Friday was Nebraska made another in-state offer, this time to Elkhorn North 2025 tight end Chase Loftin<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n The 6-foot-5 1\/2, 200-pound Loftin already picked up Iowa State and Oklahoma offers this week, and he added the Huskers on Friday. He\u2019ll camp at both K-State and Missouri next week. <\/p>\n He\u2019s now the fifth in-state offer for the class of 2025 made by Rhule\u2019s staff, as NU has also offered Omaha Westside LB Christian Jones<\/a><\/strong>, Omaha North DL Tyson Terry<\/a><\/strong>, Millard North DB Caden VerMaas<\/a><\/strong> and Wahoo Bishop Neumann running back Conor Booth<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Loftin said he did not receive his testing numbers back from NU on Friday. He talked more about his offer<\/a><\/strong> following the camp to HuskerOnline<\/em>. <\/p>\n The camp on Friday offered VerMaas a great opportunity to work out for Rhule and his future Husker coaches for the first time. <\/p>\n He committed to Nebraska this past April and originally received his offer last fall from former interim head coach Mickey Joseph<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n VerMaas said he measured just under 6-0 and 189 pounds. He also ran 4.44 seconds in the 40-yard dash, ran 4.45 in the pro-agility, and jumped a 32-inch vertical. <\/p>\n \u201cThe camp was an awesome experience,\u201d VerMaas said. <\/p>\n The In-state prospect that probably helped his stock the most on Friday was Omaha North 2024 defensive back Donovan Jones<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n It was the first live look Nebraska and Wyoming had at the 6-foot, 180-pound Jones, and he did not disappoint. <\/p>\n The Cowboys immediately offered Jones at the camp, and he also appears to be on the Huskers\u2019 radar. <\/p>\n Before Friday, South Dakota State, Lindenwood, Northwest Missouri State, Minnesota State, Central Missouri and Sioux Falls were the only offers Jones had. <\/p>\n ***2025 Elkhorn South quarterback Madden Riggs<\/a><\/strong> threw at Friday\u2019s camp. He also worked out for NU at the team camp Sunday through Tuesday. <\/p>\n Another in-state quarterback\/athlete to watch is Wahoo Nuemann\u2019s Connor Schutt<\/a><\/strong>\u2014the 6-foot-5, 180-pound Schutt is cousins with former Nebraska quarterback Noah Vedral<\/a><\/strong>. Schutt and Vedral\u2019s mothers are sisters and the daughters of former Bishop Neumann head coach Tim Turman. <\/p>\n He physically looks the part and can play multiple different positions. NU has been watching him closely all spring\/summer. <\/p>\n ***2025 Lincoln Southwest athlete Jackson Carpenter<\/a><\/strong> was present at Friday\u2019s camp but did not workout out after tweaking his hamstring on Sunday while running his 40-yard dash. The injury knocked him out of the state track meet earlier this spring after topping out at 10.75 seconds in the 100-meter dash.<\/p>\n ***North Kansas City (Mo.) 2024 athlete Eltoum Murgus<\/a><\/strong> was one of the most intriguing athletes who camped at Nebraska this week. He worked out at NU\u2019s first camp on June 4 and returned for FNL. <\/p>\n The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Murgus ran 4.52 seconds in the 40-yard dash and went 10-3 in the broad jump. On the track, he also ran 48.95 seconds in the 400-meter dash this spring. He currently holds multiple Group of Five and FCS offers. Murgus told HOL on Friday he could only watch camp because of a toe injury he suffered this past week. <\/p>\n Had a great camp at Nebraska\u2019s Friday night lights \u2014 Ryker Evans (@RykerEvans5) June 17, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n ***Another big in-state performance came from Elwood (Neb.) Hi-Line athlete Ryker Evans<\/a><\/strong>. He\u2019s had multiple big camps this June before the Husker staff. <\/p>\n Evans ran 4.44 second in the 40-yard dash, jumped a 35-inch vertical and ran 4.25 seconds in the pro-agility. Evans took second in the 100-meter dash in track and won the 200-meter dash in Class C. His PR in the 100 was 10.64 seconds and 21.80 seconds in the 200. <\/p>\n ***Former Husker defensive end Benard Thomas<\/a><\/strong> was at Friday\u2019s camp with his son and a group of players from Texas. Thomas lives in the San Antonio area and works as a football trainer. <\/p>\n One of Thomas\u2019s cooler moments on Friday was reconnecting with his former defensive coordinator Craig Bohl<\/a><\/strong>, who coached him for his first three seasons at NU. Bohl and his staff worked both Nebraska camps on Friday. <\/p>\n ***One of the neater moments during the camp was Rhule lined up at quarterback and threw one-on-one routes to some of the receivers.
