Colorado<\/a><\/strong> superfan Peggy Coppom<\/strong>, who turned 100 years old last month, will be at the Alamo Bowl on Saturday when the Buffaloes take on BYU<\/a><\/strong>, Deion Sanders<\/a><\/strong> recently announced.<\/p>\n

Coppom, who is also known as \u201cMiss Peggy,\u201d has been embraced by Deion Sanders and the Colorado football program over the past two seasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cMiss Peggy will be here. I think she\u2019s starting, as well,\u201d Deion Sanders joked<\/a>. \u201cYea, she\u2019s in the starting lineup. But she will be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peggy Coppom was born in Colorado in November of 1924 and eventually moved to Boulder where she grew up. She attended the University of Colorado for one year before getting married and starting a family.<\/p>\n

Miss Peggy has followed the Colorado program and attended games for years and years and years. According to the school\u2019s website, she has missed just three home games, not counting the COVID season, since 1966.<\/p>\n

Coppom also attended numerous road games and is still going strong.<\/p>\n

Deion Sanders called Miss Peggy back in October when the Buffaloes clinched a bowl berth with a win over Cincinnati<\/a><\/strong> after Sanders publicly stated that one of his goals was to get Coppom to a bowl.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlright, now, for our best fan, ever, ever\u2026 we\u2019re going to put a call in to her and let her know she\u2019s going to a bowl game,\u201d Sanders said, addressing the team<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeggy, everybody in the locker room can hear you and everybody in the country can hear you,\u201d Sanders said as he spoke to the Colorado superfan. \u201cPeggy, first and foremost, we love you, we appreciate you, and we want to thank you and congratulate you for being able to go to a bowl game this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOh my gosh, I am so happy. Thank you,\u201d Coppom responded. \u201cThank you for that. I want to congratulate you. Your team was absolutely wonderful tonight. You\u2019ve done such a good job and thank you. I am so happy. God bless you.\u201d<\/p>\n

This past Saturday, Miss Peggy got a chance to check out\u00a0Travis Hunter\u2019s<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0recently-won Heisman Trophy at a Colorado men\u2019s basketball game.<\/p>\n

As she posed for a photo, Coppom stuck out a stiff arm and mimicked the iconic pose of the trophy.<\/p>\n

It has been a special season for Deion Sanders, the Colorado football program and Miss Peggy. Now they will all be together one final time at the Alamo Bowl.<\/p>\n
