Fox Sports\u2019 Joel Klatt put a couple of SEC teams, Alabama<\/strong><\/a> and Ole Miss<\/strong><\/a>, on blast in defense of Indiana<\/strong><\/a> following the Hoosiers\u2019 first round CFP loss.<\/p>\n

There were arguments for Alabama and Ole Miss, plus South Carolina<\/strong><\/a>, to be in the playoff over Indiana after a bad loss to Notre Dame<\/strong><\/a>. But Klatt wasn\u2019t having any of that talk.<\/p>\n

He then brought up Alabama and Ole Miss\u2019 schedules and why they shouldn\u2019t have been in the playoff.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome incredibly disappointing takes out there! (Indiana) certainly didn\u2019t play their best while (Notre Dame) was terrific,\u201d Klatt wrote on Twitter.<\/a> \u201cHowever, IU played better than (Alabama) getting their doors blown off by 6-6 OU (and Ole Miss) giving Kentucky their only P4 win.\u201d<\/p>\n

Indiana didn\u2019t beat anybody noteworthy this season, at least in terms of the rankings. But, Indiana did win 11 games this year to get into the dance.<\/p>\n

Notre Dame just outplayed them while other teams sat at home with three-plus losses.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great honor to obviously be a part of what\u2019s to come, and I don\u2019t want to downplay that, but tonight is about tonight and about what this team did to achieve the outcome that we all desired,\u201d head coach Marcus Freeman<\/a><\/strong> said of the win over Indiana. \u201cI want them to celebrate that. I want them not to look past tonight. Celebrate tonight. Celebrate this victory that they worked tremendously hard to achieve and obtain. Then I told them they\u2019ll have (Saturday) off. They can take one day off, and we\u2019ll get them back on Sunday. Then, we\u2019ll start thinking about the Sugar Bowl and the opportunity we have at hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Indiana will now have to reset after an 11-2 season and see if they can improve in 2025. It was a great first season under Curt Cignetti, but the schedule question will definitely come up this offseason.<\/p>\n
