Thursday night, the second day of the finals, featured pro day workouts from the finalists and college counselors. Each quarterback worked through the same 20 throw script, throwing to receivers on air and On3 has named top performers from the night.

“We charted each session live, grading each throw as an on or off target,” Power said. “We do not penalize for wide receiver drops if the ball is well-thrown. Conversely, a receiver considerably slowing down to catch the ball is deemed as off target. It is not strictly a tally of completions.

“For the purposes of this Top Performers, we’re mostly sticking with our pro day charting scores as a guide.”

Hurley finished 16-for-20 passing during his throwing session, which landed him inside the On3 Top 10 performers from the evening.

“Colin Hurley continued to show off his natural arm strength,” Power said. “Similar to (Dylan Raiola) and a few others, Hurley does not have to strain to drive the ball downfield. We also saw Hurley flash some nice touch and change speeds on his passes. His footwork and overall movement skills could stand to improve and a few others ahead of him went through their pro day drops and throws with more urgency. Still, it was a nice showing for the one-time 2025 prospect.”

A look back at Hurley’s Day 1 performance

As has been the case in past years, the first day of the three day event featured drill work, with the quarterbacks separated into four groups and working through different stations.

“The setting allows for a direct side-by-side comparison of the majority of the cycle’s top passers,” Power said. “We’re able to get a sense for some of the physical tools, passing ability and level of development of the participants. This order is based solely on the performances from Wednesday night. We place an emphasis on the ability to make high-level throws and consistency on a pass to pass basis along with the overall physical skill set in this setting.”

At the end of the throwing session, Power circled 11 quarterback prospects who stood out – and Hurley was among the group.

“Colin Hurley looked to have one of the stronger arms at the Elite 11 Finals on Day 1,” Power said. “The LSU pledge has a compact build, with a developed, powerful base. He has a loose, fluid throwing motion and has no trouble spinning and generating pace on his throws. The Jacksonville Trinity Christian product made some high-level throws down the sideline and showed the ability to drive the ball downfield with ease. His accuracy fluctuated at times. The footwork will need to quicken and he’ll need to continue improving his functional movement skills as he looked a little uncomfortable on the move and off-platform. Hurley is the youngest prospect on hand, reclassifying from the 2025 cycle.”

The post Elite 11 Reactions: LSU QB commitment Colin Hurley appeared first on On3.

[1

post-7857","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
