Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay<\/a><\/strong> opened up about Aaron Donald<\/a><\/strong> possibly returning to the NFL after his retirement. On Monday, McVay told reporters that he doesn\u2019t beleive Donald will make a comeback, and the team will not reach out to him. <\/p>\n

\u201cI have a really special relationship with Aaron,\u201d McVay said, per the Associated Press<\/em><\/a>. \u201cHe has done so much, and he puts so much into everything. I would almost feel disrespectful reaching out to him, just based on the principles and knowing him the way that I do. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf that was something that he got interested in, then that would obviously be something that you\u2019re always open to, but I almost feel like it would be disrespectful to broach that subject with him, just based on our conversations and the clarity and the completedness that he felt like he had when he stepped away when he did.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donald announced his retirement in March after spending his entire career with the Rams (2014-2023). He\u2019s a future Hall of Famer, being named to the Pro Bowl 10 times and the All-Pro First Team eight times. Donald is a three-time winner of the Defensive Player of the Year award and helped the Rams win the Super Bowl during the 2021 season. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything but positive vibes, and I don\u2019t think he could have any regrets based on the way he handled every single day of his career,\u201d McVay said. \u201cI know he\u2019s really happy doing the things that he\u2019s doing right now, and he stays up with what we\u2019re doing, and he still physically looks like he could go do some really special stuff on the field. But that wouldn\u2019t be something that would come up, out of respect for him and our relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rams wouldn\u2019t mind having Donald back in uniform as they are making a big push to reach the postseason. Los Angeles is currently 8-6 and in first place in the NFC West. <\/p>\n
