The Los Angeles Rams had some fun with Miami<\/strong><\/a> not making the College Football Playoff<\/strong><\/a>, namely Jared Verse<\/a><\/strong> and Keir Thomas<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Both guys played at Florida State so the two trolled teammate Kam Kinchens<\/a><\/strong>, a Miami alum, in the locker room Tuesday. Kinchens found a bunch of Pop-Tarts by his locker.<\/p>\n

Naturally, Miami is going to play Iowa State<\/strong><\/a> in the Pop-Tarts Bowl instead of a first round College Football Playoff game.<\/p>\n

Poor Kinchens, he didn\u2019t deserve that did he? At least it\u2019s the Pop-Tarts bowl and he has a tasty snack. He took the Miami dig in stride. <\/p>\n

Miami coach Mario Cristobal initially made an argument as to why Miami should be in the playoff. But, Alabama was ahead of them in the penultimate rankings, which resulted in Alabama actually getting knocked out by SMU the following week after the ACC Championship Game, won by Clemson.<\/p>\n

Safe to say, people like Paul Finebaum didn\u2019t understand the Miami love after a 10-2 campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like him very much. I wish he was running for public office because I would vote for him if he was running for office but I\u2019m not sure I completely bought his argument,\u201d Finebaum said. \u201cI thought, of all the stats that he threw out, the weakest thing he said was his decision to not try to to win that game outright. I thought the field goal was a very bad look for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finebaum also went into strength of schedule for Miami, including comparing theirs\u00a0to<\/a>\u00a0Alabama<\/a><\/strong>. The Hurricanes did reach double-digit wins but did so against an easier schedule than other teams who they now find themselves alongside on the bubble, specifically\u00a0the ones from the SEC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis other argument about winning nine versus ten<\/a>? Alabama played one of the toughest schedules in the country. Miami did not,\u201d Finebaum said. \u201cThe win at\u00a0Florida<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0probably should matter but Alabama also did a lot, including beating\u00a0Georgia<\/a><\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n
