After missing the 2024 College Football Playoff, Alabama has been selected to participate in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan to close out its season, per Action Network\u2019s Brett McMurphy.<\/p>\n
The game will be played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on New Year\u2019s Day, with a kickoff time set for 11 a.m. CT.<\/p>\n
The Crimson Tide finished the regular season 9-3 with wins over three ranked teams in SEC champion Georgia, South Carolina and Missouri. Of Alabama\u2019s three losses, one came to a ranked Tennessee, while the others came at the hands of unranked Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.<\/p>\n
Michigan, coming off last season\u2019s national championship, finished the season 7-5 and beat rival Ohio State as an underdog to close out the year. The Wolverines finished the year unranked by the CFP committee.<\/p>\n
The CFP field was filled out by the five highest-ranked conference champions receiving auto-bids: Big Ten champion Oregon, SEC champion Georgia, Big 12 champion Arizona State, ACC champion Clemson, and Mountain West champion Boise State. The remaining at-large teams were Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, Indiana and SMU.<\/p>\n
This will be the third bowl game in the past five years where Alabama has played Michigan. The Crimson Tide beat the Wolverines 35-16 in the Citrus Bowl to conclude the 2019 season, while Michigan beat Alabama in the Rose Bowl in last year\u2019s CFP semifinal game.<\/p>\n
