If he does so, he\u2019ll do so as a committed man. Powers has decided that Michigan State is home. <\/p>\n<p>The Spartans made a major impression on the On3 four-star over the weekend. Powers was in East Lansing for his official visit over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Powers saw what he needed to see. He went into the weekend with an idea of where he wanted to be. The official visit sealed the deal. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs soon as I stepped foot on campus it felt like home to be honest,\u201d  Powers said. \u201dEverything about the coaches, players, and culture felt welcoming and family like.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Taking a deeper look opened Powers\u2019 eyes to a few things. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe players were very real with me with anything I asked, Powers said. \u201dI feel like my fit in the defense is perfect, which shows my versatility with covering and being aggressive in the run fit at the nickel position.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Coaches made a major impact on Reggie Powers<\/h2>\n<p>He was able to sit down with head coach <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/coach\/mel-tucker-132206\/\">Mel Tucker <\/a><\/strong>on the visit. Tucker made strong pitches. His history at Georgia and beyond of sending defensive players to the NFL made a major impact on Powers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI spent a lot of time with coach Tucker,\u201d Powers said. \u201cHe is a very competitive coach and his energy is great. He is a defensive guy himself more specifically DBs, so that was big for me as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michigan State checked a few boxes. Michigan State\u2019s culture was a big winner. Powers felt like a priority in East Lansing. He and secondary coach <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/coach\/harlon-barnett-132293\/\">Harlon Barnett<\/a><\/strong> have been in deep conversations for months. <\/p>\n<p>Being close to his position coach was big for Powers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a great relationship with coach Barnett he was the first person I got in contact with from MSU and offered me in May,\u201d Powers said. \u201cSince then, we have talked or textsd almost everyday. He has great experience in the league playing DB and has been coaching a long time too. It\u2019s very important because that\u2019s the person I\u2019m going to be with the most at the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The four-star safety is locked in on Michigan State. He can now focus on his senior season.
