OU is going bowling for the 26th consecutive season. <\/p>\n
The Sooners upset No. 7 Alabama on Saturday 24-3, earning their sixth win of the season. That means they\u2019re officially bowl-eligible. And while making a bowl was not the ultimate goal this season, it is a nice consolation for what\u2019s been a tough year. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhat I\u2019m most proud of, is the guys continued to believe that,\u201d coach Brent Venables<\/a><\/strong> said. \u201cYou know? In the face of criticism \u2014 and all of it justifiable. I mean, we\u2019re 5-5 at Oklahoma. And we\u2019ve got to be better. But the players, and I just love their resolve. It\u2019s really cool to see them \u2014 I told y\u2019all I hurt in the past because they deserved an opportunity to celebrate all their hard work.\u201d<\/p>\n Which bowl game OU plays is very much up for debate. There are several new bowl games the Sooners could play in due to the SEC tie-ins. It will also largely depend on how many SEC teams get into the 12-team playoff.
