The Nittany Lions’ sophomore quarterback is ranked 133 in NIL validation with a value just north of $340k, according to On3’s NIL Validation rankings. So with that kind of money at his disposal heading into the second college football season, what is the Penn State quarterback spending it all on? As it turns out, not much, thanks to the financial team, he has surrounding him, including his parents. But when he does decide to treat himself, Allar tends to spend money on two particular things; one surprising and the other not so surprising.

“Shoes and golf,” said Allar during an interview on Next Up with Adam Breneman. “I have four pairs of Jordans. I’m looking to expand a little bit, but this weekend, I just bought four pairs of Dunks. So that’s like where most of my money is going to, and I just bought new clubs. That was my first ever like big boy purchase I would.”

For a basic set of golf clubs, you can find a right-handed set for somewhere around $200. But if you want to play like the pros and you are in search of some quality irons, Callaway, one of the premier companies for clubs, will start you off with a price point north of $1000, bag included. So how much did Allar end up coughing up for his new set?

“I did get a good discount on them, but it still ran me up probably like $2500.”

Before revealing his love for golf clubs and tennis shoes, Allar noted that he was being fiscally responsible with his money and had recently acquired a credit card to help develop his credit.

Allar on his film-watching process

In that same interview, Allar also touched on watching film and what things he looks for when breaking down his opponent’s tape.

“Yeah, so usually, when I go in and watch film, our analysts have like a short breakdown of their tendencies. When I go in, I try to figure out the differences for me,” said Allar. “I always try to figure out where’s certain or identify the player that’s going to give me the most tell on a coverage. It’s different every week and different with every defense. And that’s why I try to look for, like, where somebody aligns on the field, when it’s a certain coverage and in a certain formation.

“I’ll go in and mostly do that. Then when we get the game plan, I’m like, ‘Okay, Reek, he’s here; this guy is over off the hash. He might be going cloud or something like that.’ So it’s definitely just looking for the little details and just seeing where everybody lines up in every formation.”

The post Drew Allar says shoes, golf are his biggest purchases with NIL money appeared first on On3.

[1

post-7533","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
