Under the lights of Williams-Brice Stadium this Saturday, Shane Beamer\u2019s South Carolina football team showed the college football world a few things. On the field, the Gamecocks won big, 44-20, after Debo Williams and company delivered a donut in the 2nd half<\/a>. The environment in the stadium also had the country talking.<\/p>\n

Everyone who knows anything about college football understands that Williams-Brice Stadium is a great venue. However, after Saturday\u2019s game, some national opinions have begun mirroring local thought.<\/p>\n

On3\u2019s Jesse Simonton sang Willy B\u2019s praises<\/a>. Speaking about Gamecock fans, the national pundit argued that South Carolina has a top-15 environment on a normal Saturday. However, he amended that statement by saying that night games in Williams-Brice are \u201cright up there\u201d with the very best environments in sports, labeling it a \u201ctop-5 night environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simonton described the fans on Saturday as \u201celectric\u201d and gave some strong love to the Gamecocks\u2019 home venue. \u201cWhen it gets dark in Columbia, that place becomes a house of horrors with Houdini powers \u2014\u00a0especially if South Carolina is decent (or better).\u00a0On Saturday,\u00a0No. 10 Texas A&M<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0learned that lesson the hard way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simonton wasn\u2019t the only national voice hyping up Williams-Brice. SEC Network Chris Doering said on SEC Football Final that Carolina\u2019s venue made Texas A&M\u2019s crowd last week at Kyle Field against LSU \u201clook like a joke.\u201d Cousin Shane from That SEC Podcast declared that he was \u201csurprised half the stadium didn\u2019t come down\u201d thanks to the crowd noise.<\/p>\n

This week, South Carolina travels to Nashville, Tennessee for a meeting with the 24th-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores. After that, though, the Gamecock Faithful will have an opportunity to return home. If the \u2018Cocks kick down the \u2018Dores, that home contest against Missouri on November 16th<\/a> will be rocking once again.<\/p>\n
