The Southeastern Conference unveiled its 20th annual men\u2019s basketball coaches\u2019 preseason All-SEC teams Thursday, tipping off the 2024-25 season.<\/p>\n
Alabama\u2019s Mark Sears<\/a><\/strong> was the choice of the coaches for SEC Preseason Player of the Year. Joining Sears on the preseason first team is Auburn\u2019s Johni Broome, Florida\u2019s Walter Clayton Jr., Tennessee\u2019s Zakai Zeigler, and Texas A&M\u2019s Wade Taylor IV.<\/p>\n Entering the season, KenPom.com<\/a> has the SEC rated as the No. 1 conference in the nation. Twelve SEC teams are ranked in KenPom.com\u2019s Top 50 and all 16 rank in the Top 100. The Associated Press Preseason Top 25 featured a nation-leading nine teams ranked: Alabama 2nd, Auburn 11th, Tennessee 12th, Texas A&M 13th, Arkansas 16th, Texas 19th, Florida 21st, Kentucky 23rd, and Ole Miss 24th.<\/p>\n The 2024-25 campaign begins Nov. 4, with league play set to begin Jan. 4.
