Joel Klatt<\/strong> stated the obvious, at least to this point of the season: Deion Sanders<\/a><\/strong> has been a \u201chome run\u201d hire at Colorado<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now 6-2 on the season and ranked No. 23 in the latest AP Poll, Colorado is bowl bound. How far they go remains to be seen, but they\u2019re not out of the Big 12 and College Football Playoff<\/strong><\/a> race.<\/p>\n

Klatt raved about Sanders\u2019 job in Year with the Buffaloes this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cDeion Sanders has been an unequivocal success. And I mean home run success,\u201d Klatt said on his podcast<\/a>. \u201cThere is no other way to categorize it. And all of you that want to take shots because you don\u2019t like his style now have to sit there and watch his team play tough at the line of scrimmage, do a better job with the offensive line, run in the football and take care of he ball.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now they\u2019re 6-2 and they\u2019re going to a bowl, and they\u2019re ranked, and they\u2019re 4-1 in the conference, and have an outside shot to actually play for a Big 12 title, which would mean that they\u2019ve got 60 minutes to go to the College Football Playoff.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it\u2019s two years removed from losing 11 games by 29 points per (game). Are you kidding me? Where are all of you now that think Deion is a joke, where are all of you now that think Deion is only in it for himself. This guy can coach man, and I\u2019m glad he\u2019s doing it at Colorado.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sanders and Colorado beat Cincinnati<\/strong><\/a> 34-23 last weekend and have four games remaining, setting up for a potential and special run.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow No. 23 in the AP poll, I tell you what Colorado is, bowl eligible,\u201d Klatt said. \u201cDeion Sanders has done something that, I got to be honest, I think he\u2019s done this quicker than I even anticipated. And I\u2019m a guy that was a believer in Colorado. I was the one in the preseason telling you that I thought this team could win eight or nine games. Well, guess what? If they continue to play like this, they might win nine or 10 games in the regular season. Deion Sanders has done something that has been totally remarkable at Colorado.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was the worst Power Five team in college football two years ago, the worst. They were 1-11 and lost those 11 games by a total of 349 points. That is 29 points per loss per loss \u2026 Deion Sanders gets hired. He brings his son Shedeur Sanders<\/a><\/strong> and Travis Hunter.<\/a><\/strong> He talked a big game about the transfer portal, and he has rebuilt that entire program. The sideline is full with energy. The stadium is full. It\u2019s a sellout. The university is full. There are more students at the university than there have ever been at the University. They\u2019re getting more applications from more spots in this country than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n
