Mike Elko<\/a><\/strong> is hyping up Saturday\u2019s game between Texas A&M<\/a><\/strong> and LSU<\/a><\/strong> to the highest degree. The Aggies coach had a humorous way of describing the matchup that will decide, for now, who claims the top spot in the SEC standings. <\/p>\n

Asked to preview a key matchup between the A&M defensive line and LSU offensive line, Elko relayed the message he gave to his players. <\/p>\n

\u201cI kind of joked with our guys this morning. I said, \u2018There\u2019s $10 million cash on the line this weekend. Someone\u2019s gonna go get it. If you want it, it\u2019s yours,’\u201d Elko said<\/a>. \u201cBut no, it\u2019ll be a great matchup. It\u2019ll be a lot of fun. That\u2019s what happens in these types of games. You see these high level players on both sides of the ball for both programs that get a chance to go head-to-head against each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Texas A&M has been solid at getting after the quarterback this season to rank 15th in the country with 2.8 sacks per game. However, they\u2019ll face a Tigers team that comes in at No. 2 in sacks allowed (0.3 per game). <\/p>\n

The home team has won each of the past seven games between LSU and Texas A&M. That bodes well for the Aggies as Saturday\u2019s contest will take place at Kyle Field. <\/p>\n

Anticipation for the matchup is continuing to build as game week has only begun. Whichever team emerged victorious will put itself in great shape not only to potentially win the SEC, but also make the College Football Playoff. <\/p>\n

Elko clearly knows that based on his comments. There may not actually be $10 million on the line, but it sure feels that way with how much is at stake on both sides. Hopefully the game can live up to the hype that it\u2019s gotten and give fans a classic.<\/p>\n
