Nebraska<\/a><\/strong> coach Matt Rhule<\/a><\/strong> takes full responsibility for an embarrassing 56-7 loss to Indiana<\/a><\/strong> on Saturday. The Cornhuskers were outplayed in every facet as they played extremely sloppy, committing five turnovers and never giving themselves a chance. <\/p>\n

In a loss such as this, there\u2019s usually more than one person to blame, but Rhule is willing to accept the majority of it. Still struggling to make sense of what happened in the moments after the game, he owned up to his failure to have the team prepared.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought they had our number today,\u201d Rhule said in his postgame presser<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s the part that really infuriates me as the head coach. People are gonna point at this person, point at that person. Everything should be pointed right at me. <\/p>\n

\u201cI usually can see things coming, and I\u2019ll tell you right now, I did not see this coming. Credit to them. I don\u2019t want to take anything away from them. They\u2019re an excellent football team. But yeah, I did not see this coming.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola<\/a><\/strong> had his worst game of the season, matching his season total with three interceptions and four total turnovers. Indiana jumped out to a 28-7 advantage by halftime and didn\u2019t let off the gas at all to start the second half. <\/p>\n

The loss dropped the Cornhuskers to 5-2 (2-2 Big Ten) on the season. A conference title is likely off the table at this point in the season, but this still has a chance to be one of the program\u2019s better years in recent memory. Nebraska has not made a bowl game since 2016 but is just one win away from punching its ticket. <\/p>\n

As embarrassing as the loss was, it\u2019s merely one game that the Cornhuskers will have to quickly forget. Things don\u2019t get any easier next week as Matt Rhule and Nebraska are set to face No. 4 Ohio State<\/a><\/strong> at noon ET on Saturday in Columbus.<\/p>\n
