Ohio State has playmakers all over the field on both sides of the ball.

Oregon will have its hands full in this highly-anticipated top five matchup. Here are the players we are most concerned with headed into the big game later today.

Linden Hile: Denzel Burke (CB)

I expect Oregon’s offense to need options to keep the chains moving against what’s been a nearly impenetrable Ohio State defense to this point. My biggest fear for the Ducks is that Burke will handle Tez Johnson better than any cornerback has so far and force Oregon into tougher throws than it typically likes to make.

There are really no wrong answers for who to be most concerned about against this caliber of opponent but Burke feels like one who could play a huge hand in keeping the Ducks’ offense behind the chains in key moments.

Collin King: Emeka Egbuka (WR)

This may be a little bit of a surprise to some of the fanbase but Egbuka is a first round/ borderline first round NFL wideout even though a lot of the spotlight has been on Jeremiah Smith. Egbuka is the veteran in this room and comes off of a three touchdown game against Iowa. Oregon cannot afford to give more attention to one of either Smith or Egbuka and get burnt by the other as a result. This is actually an extremely similar situation to playing against Ohio State last time when they had Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, JSN, and others.

Max Torres: Caleb Downs (SAF)

Jeremiah Smith is the easy answer here, but he’s not the guy I’m going with. Downs might’ve been the best player available in the transfer portal this offseason after leaving Alabama. And that’s because of the sensational season he had as a true freshman. Downs may not be stuffing the stat sheet but he’s probably the most talented player in the Buckeye secondary. He can do it all: cover, tackle, make plays after the catch. The Ducks need to look out for him Saturday. DB Lathan Ransom was another player I considered here, as he’s been very disruptive this season through five games.

Jhop: TreVeyon Henderson & Quishon Judkins

A dynamic running back duo that together will rival what Oregon saw in Ashton Jeanty and Boise State. Which the defense held up well but there is room for improvement. These two will be paramount to the Ohio State offense which feeds off the run game. Keeping them in check and making Ohio State one-dimensional could be highly beneficial for Oregon.

The post ScoopDuck Roundtable: Opposing Player Most Concerned With appeared first on On3.

We know a very talented team is coming to Eugene.
