Carson Beck<\/a><\/strong> didn\u2019t have his best game against Alabama<\/a><\/strong>, but former Heisman quarterback Tim Tebow<\/a><\/strong> left impressed with the Georgia<\/a><\/strong> signal-caller. <\/p>\n

During an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show<\/em> on Friday afternoon, Tebow elaborated on why he was satisfied with Beck\u2019s performance in the Bulldogs\u2019 almost-comeback against the Crimson Tide, even if the potential first rounder tossed three picks in a loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t flinch, and he did not play his best whatsoever,\u201d Tebow explained, regarding Beck\u2019s play. \u201cThe first pick was not on him. The second pick was on him, he threw it to the DB\u2019s face. The third pick, that\u2019s just him trying to make a play. You don\u2019t put that on him. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut he didn\u2019t flinch. He kept fighting. He kept coming back. He also did not get \u2014 he got some help from his receivers, his tight ends dropped a lot of passes.\u201d<\/p>\n

All in all, Tebow believes the loss to Alabama can be a good thing for Georgia, as it can refocus Kirby Smart\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> team, especially when you factor in the 12-team College Football Playoff<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Georgia team can get so much better,\u201d Tebow added. \u201cI almost think there\u2019s a little bit of Kirby that\u2019s like, \u2018We had that comeback, and we\u2019re not even close to what we can be.\u2019 There\u2019s got to be a piece of Kirby \u2014 obviously, you don\u2019t want to lose. I mean, they still have a lot of big games in front of them, but knowing that this could build an edge for the team, knowing that this could be something they rally around, that he can coach on every single day. We know he loves that, and there\u2019s no doubt that he\u2019s going to use that to be able to fire up this team to gain that edge. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard when you dominate the last three regular seasons. It\u2019s hard when you\u2019ve only lost to Alabama. It\u2019s hard to keep that edge. I think this gives this team a little bit of an edge, and I think Kirby\u2019s going to kind of use that. You look at on the road against Texas, that\u2019s gonna be a big one. At Ole Miss, that\u2019s gonna be a big one. Tennessee, that\u2019s going to be a big one. Georgia doesn\u2019t have the easiest schedule going forward, but I think Kirby\u2019s going to be able to use this loss to be able to gain some momentum.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carson Beck will have to play a cleaner game, but Georgia will remain one of the top teams in the country moving forward. Time will tell how the Bulldogs respond, but count Kirby Smart\u2019s team out at your own risk \u2014 Tim Tebow certainly isn\u2019t. <\/p>\n
