Miami<\/a><\/strong> women\u2019s basketball player Hanna Cavinder<\/a><\/strong> took to TikTok recently<\/a> to defend her boyfriend \u2014 Georgia<\/a><\/strong> quarterback Carson Beck<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 and others who are attacked on social media. <\/p>\n

Cavinder went after trolls online who talk negatively about athletes for their play, looks, etc.<\/p>\n

\u201cOK, I\u2019m just going to get this off my chest, because this shit just like literally fires me up and annoys me so much about social media and society nowadays,\u201d Hanna Cavinder said. \u201cI don\u2019t understand why viewers or fans or whatever it is get satisfaction from commenting on a person or athlete\u2019s look on social media or like roasting them and thinking it\u2019s OK to just comment about what they look like, come at them, tear them down like these people aren\u2019t human beings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Athletes are criticized regularly on social media, and Carson Beck certainly received his share after struggling at times in Georgia\u2019s loss to Alabama<\/a><\/strong> over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Hanna Cavinder made it clear that she is annoyed by the negative comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s actually sickening nowadays how society can just, you know, we just turn a blind eye to someone commenting at what a person looks like online, and it\u2019s just sickening that people all get satisfaction of humiliating someone by their looks,\u201d Hanna Cavinder said. \u201cIt just like doesn\u2019t sit right with me. It makes me sick to my stomach that people can go out of their way to comment on anyone\u2019s photos anonymously or literally with not even a burner account and be like, \u2018This person\u2019s ugly\u2019 or commenting on people\u2019s weight or whatever it is. <\/p>\n

\u201cI mean I get it all the time. I think it just is absolutely ridiculous how people can go out of their way and do that. And it just fires me up. So I\u2019m trying to get on here and tell you guys if you have anything not nice to say to a person, maybe just like shut up and don\u2019t say one word, because it affects people\u2019s lives. We\u2019re all human beings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cavinder went on to say that she doesn\u2019t know what happens that makes people act like that.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd like, who raised these people is my question?\u201d she said. \u201cLike I would never have the nerve to go comment on what a female looks like, what a man looks like, on social media. And just be OK with myself being like \u2018I don\u2019t like what this person wore. This person looks a certain way to me.\u2019 I don\u2019t understand how you were raised to do that and think it\u2019s OK to do that as human being to human being.\u201d<\/p>\n
