With the summer in the rearview mirror and football season well underway, On3 has updated its recruiting rankings for the 2025 class. Galveston (Texas) Ball<\/a><\/strong> safety and Texas<\/a><\/strong> commit Jonah Williams<\/a><\/strong> is the No. 16 overall prospect and a new five-star in the 2025 On300.<\/p>\n

The latest edition of On3\u2019s 2025 rankings features 18 five-star prospects, up three from the previous update in July. Of those 18 five-stars, 15 are committed to college programs. Evaluations will continue as the high school season continues.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-3.25, 206-pound Williams committed to in-state Texas on Aug. 24, continuing a big run of late-summer recruiting wins for Steve Sarkisian<\/a><\/strong> and Co. Williams is one of three industry five-stars in the Longhorns\u2019 2025 class. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really impressed with Coach Sarkisian and the method he\u2019s beginning to accomplish things. I think all the players are very in tune to what he\u2019s trying to teach there. I\u2019m very impressed with that,\u201d Williams told On3 upon making his decision public<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Williams is one of eight On3 top-100 recruits committed to Texas this cycle. The Longhorns currently own the No. 5 class in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Scout\u2019s Take on Jonah Williams<\/h2>\n

\u201cJonah Williams has the size, athleticism and playmaking instincts to be a potential queen on the chessboard for defensive coordinators. He is built like a linebacker with the athleticism of a top defensive back. Williams is a true three-phase playmaker on Friday nights, lining up at safety, wide receiver and punt returner. He\u2019s an easy, fluid mover with a good top gear and covers ground in a hurry \u2014 whether that\u2019s with the ball in his hands or track a ball carrier. He also shows outstanding range in coverage and has high-level ball skills with the ability to track the football over his shoulder. Notched\u00a0 four interceptions as a junior along with eight pass breakups, and he\u2019s one of the nation\u2019s more dynamic players with the ball in his hands.\u201d \u2014 Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings<\/em><\/p>\n
