Montavin Quisenberry<\/a><\/strong> is one of the more versatile athletes in the state of Kentucky. Although he clocks in at just 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, the Boyle County product is prone to bust open a big play at a moment\u2019s notice. <\/p>\n

Need proof? He rushed for over 1,000 yards (10.5 yards per carry) and hauled in another 800-plus through the air (14.6 yards per catch) for 23 total touchdowns as a sophomore (class of 2025) for the Rebels in 2022, which won its third straight 4A state championship under head coach Justin Haddix. Quisenberry even recorded 26 total tackles on defense this past season, including two forced fumbles and three interceptions. <\/p>\n

All of this equates to significant interest from the Kentucky football program<\/strong>. Wildcats associate head coach Vince Marrow initially offered Quisenberry in October<\/a>. He was in Lexington over the weekend to participate in UK\u2019s Sunday Showcase Camp<\/a>, running a 4.5-second 40-yard dash, going through receiver drills, and shining in one-on-ones. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m trying to prove that for a small receiver, prove that I can play against taller DBs and against anybody for real,\u201d Quisenberry told KSR on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Quisenberry came back again on Tuesday for the program\u2019s One Day Camp \u2014 only this time he was in street clothes as a spectator. He was chopping it up with UK offensive coordinator Liam Coen for a chunk of his time at Kroger Field and talked with a handful of assistant coaches throughout the day. There is plenty of mutual interest between the two sides. <\/p>\n

\u201c(Coen is) just telling me how they could use me. They like me a lot,\u201d Quisenberry said. \u201cKentucky is somewhere that I\u2019d really like to be<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

A potential gameday visit for this fall is on the table for Quisenberry, who has a trio of Boyle County alums currently on the Kentucky roster in EDGE Tommy Ziesmer<\/a><\/strong>, K Jackson Smith<\/a><\/strong>, and WR Cole Lanter.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing able to know somebody at a school, that just always helps with chemistry and getting to know a lot more people,\u201d Quisenberry added.<\/p>\n

Along with the Wildcats, Quisenberry holds additional offers from Louisville, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Eastern Kentucky. He says that Virginia Tech and West Virginia (he visited the Mountaineers over the weekend) are consistent in their contact. Next up is a stop at Notre Dame on June 15 for a camp visit. <\/p>\n
