Around the two minute timeout of Saturday\u2019s Colorado<\/a><\/strong>\u2013Nebraska<\/a><\/strong> game, Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders<\/a><\/strong> was seen walking into the locker room. At that point, there was no doubt about who would wind up victorious as Nebraska had a healthy lead. Sanders had been replaced with Ryan Staub<\/a><\/strong> as he closed out things in Lincoln.<\/p>\n

Instantly, there was speculation online about Sanders and him leaving the sideline early. Clarification was provided by the man himself on Tuesday, saying he went back to be evaluated for a concussion. Not too long before, Sanders took a massive hit when scrambling downfield and in the early stages of a slide.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was crazy,\u201d Sanders said<\/a>. \u201d I heard people thought I quit on the team, which is wild. They just took me in for concussion protocol to make sure I was alright.\u201d<\/p>\n

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders<\/a><\/strong> explained the decision on the timing of his son heading to the locker room, saying the television timeout allowed the doctors to walk with the quarterback. They did not want to go up and down the sideline while play was still ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a TV timeout,\u201d Deion Sanders\u00a0said<\/a>. \u201cI never and the doctors don\u2019t want to take the guys out into the locker room while the play is going. So, it\u2019s professional that you wait until a TV timeout to take the guys into the locker room to get them checked out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Going through concussion protocol then brings up a whole new conversation. Colorado has another game on Saturday, traveling to Fort Collins for an in-state rivalry against Colorado State<\/a><\/strong>. If Shedeur Sanders did have a concussion, he likely would not be able to play in the game.<\/p>\n

Luckily, all tests were passed and Sanders should be good to go. Big news for the Buffs heading into Week 3.<\/p>\n
