Last year, things got quite chippy in Colorado\u2019s win over Colorado State. Travis Hunter was injured on a late hit and things heated up from there.<\/a><\/p>\n

Deion Sanders<\/a><\/strong> and Jay Norvell<\/a><\/strong>, the respective head coaches, traded barbs going into the game. It boiled over before kickoff in 2023, starting with Hunter\u2019s proclamation on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey done messed with the wrong team. All talk, no bite,\u201d Hunter said in a video posted by SportsCenter<\/a> on social media.<\/p>\n

At his coach\u2019s show leading into the game, Norvell threw shade at Sanders and Colorado, particularly over how Coach Prime dons sunglasses and a cowboy hat for his television interviews.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sat down with ESPN today, and I don\u2019t care if they hear it in Boulder,\u201d said Norvell this past Wednesday. \u201cI told them, \u2018I took my hat off, and I took my glasses off.\u2019 And I said, \u2018When I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat and my glasses off.\u2019 That\u2019s what my mother taught me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Leading into the 2024 version of Colorado-Colorado State, it remains to be seen what is said this week. In cinema, the sequel is generally not as good as the original. But, this is sports, something that Hollywood can\u2019t always script.<\/p>\n
