Tight end Gavin Hoffman<\/a><\/strong> has added a new scholarship offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes. For the 6-foot-5, 220-pound junior from Blue Valley Northwest High school in Kansas, the opportunity came during a phone call with Iowa tight ends coach Abdul Hodge<\/a><\/strong> on Monday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Hodge called me and finally offered,\u201d Hoffman told HawkeyeReport.com<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s been a very slow process with Iowa. That\u2019s how they do their recruiting, especially at the tight end position, but it was very special because I was on the phone with Coach Hodge and my whole family. I feel honored to receive this offer with the great reputation they have built at Iowa for the tight ends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hoffman, who visited Iowa City in April during spring practice<\/a><\/strong>, now holds offers from Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Arizona State, Texas Tech, Marshall, New Mexico State, Miami-OH, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Ball State, Colgate, Southern Illinois, Northern Iowa, and Old Dominion.<\/p>\n

As a junior, he put up big numbers at Blue Valley Northwest with 39 catches for 713 yards and 11 touchdowns<\/a><\/strong>. This past week, Hoffman had quite an impressive performance at Missouri\u2019s camp<\/a><\/strong>, running a 4.56 forty with a 40\u2033 vertical at 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds.<\/p>\n

Up next for Hoffman will be an official visit to Missouri this weekend.<\/p>\n
