Despite coming into the 2024 season ranked in the top 10 of the Preseason AP Poll<\/a>, the Florida State Seminoles<\/strong><\/a> are now 0-2 with both of those losses coming against ACC opponents. The losing streak is now at three games, going back to last season and the team being snubbed by the College Football Playoff<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Amid those struggles, former Seminole and talented NFL<\/a><\/strong> defensive Jalen Ramsey<\/a><\/strong> called out the team for what he called the sad status of the Florida State program.<\/p>\n

Certainly, Jalen Ramsey is someone who knows about how to win at Florida State. During his college career, Ramsey was a Consensus All-American and a two-time All-ACC selection. He was also a part of the 2013 team that won a national championship. All of that was before he went on to become a first round NFL Draft<\/a><\/strong> pick and a Super Bowl champion.<\/p>\n

After last season, it seemed like Florida State was poised to once again compete for national championships. Head coach Mike Norvell<\/a><\/strong> had built the program up to the point where the Seminoles could go unbeaten in the regular season and win the ACC.<\/p>\n

However, Norvell and Florida State needed to deal with massive turnover following last season. To this point, it seems like the effort to replace those players hasn\u2019t been successful.<\/p>\n

By nature of the position, the quarterback gets highlighted frequently. That means that the struggles for DJ Uiagalelei<\/a><\/strong> are going to be under the microscope, especially after how well Jordan Travis<\/a><\/strong> played for the Seminoles and how his injury was used to keep the Seminoles out of the College Football Playoff. However, the trenches have also been a major issue. Through two games, Florida State is averaging 59.5 yards<\/a> per game on the ground. They\u2019re giving up 226.5 yards<\/a> on the ground. <\/p>\n

Finding a way to fix those issues is going to be a key for Mike Norvell and Florida State moving forward. The Seminoles now have a bye week before hosting the Memphis Tigers<\/a><\/strong>. That\u2019s Norvell\u2019s old team and a game that Florida State can\u2019t afford to lose.<\/p>\n

Paul Finebaum dunks on Florida State after 0-2 start, declares 2024 \u2018season is over\u2019<\/h2>\n

In the morning after Florida State\u2019s loss to Boston College<\/a><\/strong>, analyst Paul Finebaum declared their season over.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the issue. People shouldn\u2019t be worried about the playoffs. They should be worried about winning a game and trying to save their season. I don\u2019t think they can,\u201d Finebaum said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis season is over. I know that sounds like I\u2019m going crazy. I\u2019m not. This is a team that we were told deserved to be in the playoffs last year and certainly were going to be in the playoffs this year and they\u2019re not going to. They can\u2019t do anything right. They can\u2019t go anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
