After a lengthy lightning delay<\/a>, Penn State<\/strong><\/a> and West Virginia<\/strong><\/a> will resume and begin the third quarter at 4:05 p.m. in Morgantown, per Daniel Gallen of 247Sports.<\/a> It is contingent on no more lightning strikes.<\/p>\n

Penn State led West Virginia 20-6 going into the halftime locker room. There were controversial calls<\/a>, James Franklin<\/a><\/strong> quotes (that were at least funny) and the Nittany Lions\u2019 offense coming to life.<\/p>\n

Going into the half, it was a slow start for the Nittany Lions. But, once they got into rhythm, it was a different ball game.<\/p>\n

That included a three-play, 73-yard drive to extend the lead to two scores right at the end of the half.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, early on and we just didn\u2019t get in rhythm, whether it was penalties or whether it was fumbled snaps and things like that,\u201d Franklin told FOX\u2019s Jenny Taft. \u201cOnce we got them calmed down, I thought we did some really good things.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, offensively, we got to sustain some drives, and I\u2019m saying that to help our defense out,\u201d Franklin said. \u201cAnd then we got to get some three and outs on defense to get them off the field. They did a good job sustaining some drives, and that obviously right before the half was big. I\u2019ve been saying since the 90s: ducks accepted, spirals preferred, but we\u2019ll take a duck anytime.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pat McAfee had West Virginia native and ESPN analyst\u00a0Nick Saban<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0on to preview the matchup and discuss a number of topics. The former Alabama coach believed the Mountaineers were capable of pulling off the upset.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I think West Virginia\u2019s proven that they can run the ball effectively against just about anybody they play. I think that\u2019s going to be the challenge for them against Penn State,\u201d Saban said.<\/a> \u201cPenn State\u2019s a pretty good defensive team and they like to pressure a lot and create negative plays. So I think if the quarterback for West Virginia can create a little balance in the game for them, throw the ball effectively, that\u2019ll have a huge impact on the game.\u201d<\/p>\n
