You never quite know what might happen at an NFL training camp and an odd occurrence struck the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n
Right as the team was going through its walk-through practice on Tuesday, a fire broke out in the team\u2019s hotel and firefighters could be seen arriving on the scene to contain it.<\/p>\n
The Dallas Cowboys provided an update on the situation on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was a fire emergency in one of the guest rooms this afternoon at the team\u2019s hotel in Oxnard, Calif.,\u201d a press statement read<\/a>. \u201cThe emergency was contained to one room, that was empty at the time, and there were no injuries. The Dallas Cowboys thank the Oxnard Fire Department and Oxnard Police Department for their quick response and reaction to the situation.\u201d<\/p>\n While the actual fire was put out in short order and didn\u2019t cause any major distress, the team was in the middle of providing some potentially very favorable updates.<\/p>\n Owner Jerry Jones<\/strong> provided a couple of key updates on Tuesday when it came to contracts, with the most pressing being that of quarterback Dak Prescott<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Prescott and the team would love to work out details on an extension before the season begins. But for now, Prescott will play under his current deal<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re just continuing to talk,\u201d Jones said via Nick Harris<\/strong> of DallasCowboys.com. \u201cSince we\u2019re [approaching] in-season, we\u2019re operating under the existing contract.\u201d<\/p>\n Jones also provided an update on a possible extension for receiver CeeDee Lamb<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re in good shape there and we are having promising talks,\u201d Jones said of Lamb, via ESPN\u2019s Todd Archer<\/strong>. \u201cYou say, \u2018Well, why do you keep talking?
