Joey Logano had a tire go down<\/a> on Lap 110 of Monday\u2019s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan which prematurely ended his day. <\/p>\n

Logano was able to save his No. 22 Ford after his right rear tire went down coming off Turn 4, but it completely fell off as he was racing to pit road. Logano, credited with a 33rd-place finish, said he believes it was a case of being too aggressive at a part in the racetrack where there\u2019s a lot of speed. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure we just got aggressive,\u201d Logano told Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThere\u2019s speed down there and the whole field knows it and that\u2019s why there\u2019s so many. I went down there after a green flag stop. Yellows, you have an opportunity to swerve your tires and build a little heat without all the load and here, there\u2019s so much load through the corners and when you\u2019re on low air on a green flag stop and you\u2019re riding pretty rough on some stiff springs or unlimiters, whatever it may be, you\u2019re just shocking the tire a lot and it\u2019s just gonna stress it. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo, unfortunately, we were in the box of there\u2019s speed and low air. It\u2019s risk versus reward and how fast do you wanna go, how much risk are you willing to take. Just one of those racing things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joey Logano has disappointing finish at Michigan after flat tire<\/h2>\n

Logano\u2019s DNF is his second in the last three races (he finished P34 at Indianapolis). Though 15th in the points standings, Logano remains playoff bound courtesy of his win at Nashville in June. Logano felt he could\u2019ve scored a quality finish if not for the tire mishap. <\/p>\n

\u201c<\/strong>We had that right rear tire go flat right before that, which put us back there down a lap and then I think [Kyle Larson] just spun out in front of me and kind of caused a big wad and a Daytona-type crash. There was nowhere to really go,\u201d Logano said, via Dustin Long of NBC Sports<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI couldn\u2019t steer it left, so I just committed to maybe if I could slow it down enough, I could center punch it, and it wouldn\u2019t be that bad. That was my only option there. <\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, we got knocked out a little early. We were fighting for probably a top 10. We weren\u2019t that great, if there were more wrecks we could maybe have ended up with a top-five but we will move on.\u201d<\/p>\n
