Sports fans are among the most dedicated and passionate out there, and they\u2019re always looking for ways to get closer to their favorite athletes. Some will throw the kitchen sink at an opportunity to take home a collectible from their favorite star.<\/p>\n
Literally.<\/p>\n
Last week the Indianapolis Colts\u2019 official Instagram account posted a photo of a fan who wanted to get something special signed by defensive lineman Grover Stewart<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n What did the fan bring? Literally, a kitchen sink.<\/p>\n <\/p><\/a>\n A post shared by Indianapolis Colts (@colts)<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n So why the culinary work station? That\u2019s a question you have to go back to HBO\u2019s Hard Knocks<\/em> to answer.<\/p>\n During the \u2018Hard Knocks In Season: The Indianapolis Colts<\/em>\u2018 airing, Stewart was featured at one point while preparing some chicken wings. He\u2019s got a special recipe, but it was his unique preparation that drew immediate and intense interest from fans.<\/p>\n Stewart seasoned his chicken wings in the kitchen sink.<\/p>\n To his credit, the sink certainly looked clean. And if you\u2019re going to throw the wings on the grill shortly after anyway, you\u2019re going to burn off any bacteria they might pick up.<\/p>\n So as long as Stewart made sure to clean the sink thoroughly after prepping the chicken wings no harm, no foul.<\/p>\n The wings were popular enough that Indianapolis even began serving chicken wings<\/a> with Stewart branding in the stadium on gamedays, after agreeing with Stewart on a way to do so.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you eat chicken, we\u2019re gonna play good,\u201d Stewart told the Indianapolis Star last fall. \u201cLast year, I cooked chicken for the guys, and we whooped Arizona. I guess it\u2019s a good combination for the defensive line. \u2026<\/p>\n \u201cCook and lead the way, man.\u201d<\/p>\n Or, if you\u2019re a diehard fan, bring your kitchen sink and lead the way, man.<\/p>\n It\u2019s safe to say there probably aren\u2019t many other fans out there who have the same memorabilia as that intrepid fan captured on the Colts\u2019 Instagram account.<\/p>\n As for Stewart, he\u2019s coming off a terrific season.<\/p>\n His sixth year in the league, Grover\u2019s 2022 campaign finished with 59 tackles, four sacks and three pass breakups.
